Losi 1/10 TEN-SCTE ARR 4x4 Short Course Truck Thread

Anyone know the size of set screws for Losi Mod1 5mm pinion gears? Thanks.

Can I run a 3s lipo on a Tekin SC4x 5.5 with an RX8 ESC? I know this will be fast but could I gear it down to say like a 10t pinion. what are the negatives with doing this over my slow 2s setup now (16t pinion)
I would need to order new 3s batteries and what should I get to compliment this setup in regards to 3s, MAH and discharge rates.

Yesterday I have replaced my entire center diff with a 7k filled new aluminum diff (http://www.hot-racing.com/index.cgi?...CTE11C01;c=629 ), I'll be replacing the front and rear as soon as I get the parts in. The advantage of the aluminum Hot Racing diff case is that it doesn't have the inserts that cause the leaking in the stock diff casing.
I have not been able to weigh the aluminum diff casing though.. But I figure that if it weighs more than stock, it's easy to compensate by using a powerful motor.

tenshock 4600kv is fast on 2s and depending on your esc funshobby has the ex4 esc for $100 with that combo you can run up to 4s not that its needed im sure 3s with 4600kv your gonna spend more money on ca glue than you would a spare 2s lipo

I've ran the sc4x on 3s for a while and had no issues but don't get mad at me if you shader the rotor lol... I knw tekin does not recommend it but thats never stopped us from pushing the limit in this hobby

Hot Racing aluminium differential case installed for the center diff.
No inserts like in the stock diff. Filled with 7k oil, raced it for 3 hours today, no leaks so far. I like it, so I've ordered 2 more for the front & rear

Sorry, couldn't find someone with a scale to weigh it and I really wanted to install it.
But for the people who were thinking "more rotating mass ! I will not use it!" - my idea is : leaking diffs suck! This diff casing works so far, and any "rotating mass" problems are countered by just using one of the f'ing powerful motors out there for SC. My HW 3656SD was way overpowered for our indoor carpet track anyway, so I doubt a few milligrams of rotating mass are going to give it a hard time.

Looks good, i'd be interested in seeing how it works inside the diff case...And when you say inserts are you talking the square blocks or the inserts in the actual case that everyone either CA's or shoe goo's in? i assume the inserts since that where they leak and it still blows my mind that Losi has molded the diff case with these inserts in so its sealed rather than what they are doing now...

I'm talking about the inserts that everyone is gluing in with CA / Shoe goo / whatever.
It's just this diff case, a silicon o ring, shim, and the diff internals.
Works so far.
Edit:
I have to say, I'm using Chris Attebery's bushings and shims... The combination of HR Diff Case and Ape RC works like a charm

It was a good idea but they fell short...
I would recommend to rebuild often and make sure you got grease in the outdrive groove at all times and it should help to make them last a little longer.

I've got the Savox 1258TG servo in my SCTE, which according to spec does 12 kg cm @ 6.0V. Converted that should be 166 oz in according to Google, linear extrapolated 205 oz in @ 7.4v.
The Radiopost Green servo is specified to do 305 oz in, so about 33% more torque, is that correct ?
Does anybody have experience with the savox and the radiopost ?
