I got my temps down to 130 after 8 min run on high grip indoor,14 tooth pinion,5.5 motor tp #2 is 27* and limiter at 88 with the RX8 no fan on speedo and feels perf!

I'm on my phone, so I can't see, but is RClive carrying the cactus classic all weekend? Is it on now?

Carbide would have to be cut with a diamond wheel on a grinder. It isn't cheap.

11$ for the c52 pins from Chris sounds a lot better, and they too will likely outlast the rest of the truck

For those of you who are tired of pulling the hexes off with the wheels, the HPI Blitz hexes are a direct fit and lock down with a set screw. So no more lost pins when you remove the wheels.
Blitz hexes also make the truck wider. All you have to do is put a dab of red loctite on the pin and slide it in and a dab of red loctite on the axle before sliding the hex over the pin and the problem is solved. You have to let the loctite sit for about 30 min to an hour though. No need to get crazy with the loctite either. Just like with CA glue a little goes a long ways.

Carbide is very brittle compared to steel. It chips and cracks very easy.

I got my DE rims today! Question about venting, has anyone drilled holes in the wheels to vent the tires rather than punching holes in the tires? Seems like it would work the same.

Problem is when you get water inside the tire when cleaning it if the holes are on the inside you can't spin the water out with centrifugal force like you can when they are on the outside.

Just use a leather punch to make a nice clean hole. It's worth it and doesn't mess up the tire or anything.

Let me ask this: Regardless if I go with Tekin or Novak's BL 550 motor, should I go with the 4.5T for racing or the 5.5T one? Would the ESC's be able to tame down the hotter engine with proper gearing if I go with the 4.5T and keep low end torque high or? Since I am new to this class I want to make sure I have an engine I can control easily to start, but yet I want to make sure Im not losing races due to lack of engine performance. You thoughts?
Also, to my above questions, when going with a lower turn motor, do I increase heat/wear and tear on the ESC more even if I gear down vs. going with a less radical 5.5T engine that might be geared a little higher?
Anybody help me with the above questions?

ANybody?........Bueller?.......................... .........................Bueller?

Just got off the phone with Horizon. I was told diff pins were being sent to hobby shops, and since I bought my SCTE at a LHS, that I will need to get the pins from the same shop when they get them. Is that correct?
