[QUOTE=Gene158;112
I got it all set up!!! I soldered some castle 4mm bullets onto the esc so it plugs right into the battery and I soldered the motor directly to the esc. I spent a while doing all the wiring because not only do I want it to look clean but I want to have as little resistance as possible. Anyway, this truck is awesome! I put a 15T pinion on it and only had time to run it in the street for a few minutes but wow this thing is fast! I think I might try a 13T on it.[/QUOTE]

Looks good! Can I ask why you opted for the 401 rather than the sensored 411? I'm looking into getting a tenshock too.

It does seem a bit pointless having a SC401 with a SCT Pro, why not go for a SC8 esc instead and save a few dollars????

I got the 401 because mostly everything I read said it wasn't worth getting the 411 and that the brakes are better on the 401. The reason I got the sct pro over the sc8 was so that I have the option of running a sensored motor in the future without having to buy an new esc.

Ive had both of the Tenshock's and the low down smoothness of the 411 is a winner for me, but a good call on the ESC tho and cant say ive had any issues with the brakes either

Between the SC401 and SC411, does one run cooler than the other?

i bought the sc401 instead of the sc411 because the price i paid $100 from funshobby and it came with a ex4 esc (toro or sc8) i can use a toro or tenshock program card for sure havent looked into hobbywings yet, i wish i would have spent a couple extra bucks and went sensored but for now im fine when i replace it ill move to a 4.5 novak system i personally just prefer having a sensor for the low speed control and if i ever need to replace parts on the motor it seems like novak is ther best about their parts being easier to find and around the same price as other places

TEKNO dirveshafts and outdrives - anybody running them ? I have a question

I love the center shafts - but just installing the driveshafts and they require the larger outdrives which they come with. Putting them together is a pain though - the bearings, bearing holders and ring gear do not fit over them, so you must assemble in a certain order , not real excited about having to take this apart at the races only to change a bearing. Has anyone done something different with this setup? I'm sure I will be happy once all together.
The peice of paper that comes with it says you may have to modify the stock gear boxes - but says nothing about where, why and how much?

I have them and I did not modify the gear boxes. How often have you had to replace one of those bearings? I've had my truck for 18 months and I finally replaced them because I thought it was time, but they were still serviceable.

It is a truck only race. What you expect to be announced? They already released the 22-SCT.

Good point - I have replaced only once as a precaution
