The Tenshock comes with a sensor wire. I am running with the HW SCT Pro ESC, and high torque servo, and the internal BEC is fine. No need for capacitor or external BEC. In contrast, when I was on the MMP (and everything else the same) I needed to use a capacitor otherwise there would be severe glitching.

I was wondering where Ryan Dunford's latest setup is posted? Thanks.

Never used the HW SCT Pro, so I couldn't argue with you that it does or doesn't need one. I just go with the it's better safe than sorry to run one rule. Especially if you run a HV servo.

glad you like it (pretty hard not to). i love my 4600.

as for the BEC talk, don't forget...the TX/RX has as much or more to do with it as the servo/esc does, or more to the point, spektrum gear is far more likely to need an external BEC than airtronics/futaba/radiopost/KO.

Sorry, I should have been more clear; what I meant was does the HW sct pro come with a signal wire? The wire that connects to the receiver.

How high should I fill the fluid in the diffs?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Yes, but note programming the esc is done via the fan port, convenient and thoughtful

That motor will not be suitable for an SCTE.

Too many people think that KV rating tells everything about a motor. It may be 4600KV like the Tekin Pro4 but the rotor on a 1406 is only 0.6" (six tenths) of an inch long. That's why they call it a 1406. It will not make enough torque to run the SCTE very fast.

I ran the Castle 1410 in mine for a while and even that struggles compared to a Pro4 or Tenshock

I ran a SCTE for the first time on the weekend here, been racing the SC104x4 for over a year, most worked on truck I own and not really getting great results. Bought the Losi second hand, it has all the go fast bits on it, took two 2nd place's and won the last race, most fun I've had in SC4x4 for a long time, I'm back to were I like to be

Squeaky suspension

I've had a squeak in my front suspension for a while. The sound bothered me, but the suspension seemed to be free enough. I tried reaming out the arms for the inner hinge pins, using teflon lube on the ball joints and still could not find it. I decided to isolate all of the joints until I found it. It turns out that the bushings that the front carriers ride on were binding in the arms. The hole is an odd size (.240") so I used a piece of 220 grit sandpaper wrapped around a drill bit to open the bores a bit. It made a noticeable difference in how free the arms move.

That's exactly why I said I'd run a external BEC. I run a Savox and just like Spektrum they require a external as well. Even with any other servos I still run one, just to be on the safe side. Nothing worse than to be at a high speed straight away and go to hit the corner and glitch out when turning.
