Yeah black front orange rear. You want the rear softer.

I'm guessing that's for turning reasons? Anyway after hearing that i think i'll leave the rear stock and go to black up front. The front is way too undersprung.

Default diffs

I'm sure that this has been brought up, and I'm sorry for that, but what have people done to stop the diffs from leaking? I rebuilt a diff, raced 1 full night, and rechecked, and it was 1/2 full

thanks for any help

Glue the bushings into the plastic diff housing with CA

Ca can be tricky to get it right the first time. Try using some rtv silicone or some permatex high-tack gasket sealant. The gasket sealant works great and requires no drying like the rtv does. It won't effect oils in your diff either. Ran 3-4 races so far with no leakage. The center diff doesn't really leak much at all without doing anything to the inserts.

Pretty sure front stock springs are 3.9's.

Thanks guys, and I know exactly setup all depends on track conditions etc, but are there any general rules to follow when the truck is lighter apart from keep trying?

I am not competing in races, so am not looking for a winning formula, Just learning to tune the truck and fix the wallowing, which I can see is less than ideal.

Thanks all!

And thanks to the person who PM'd me some hints. Much appreciated.

I would go lighter weight oil. Since the shocks don't have to carry as much weight it would make your truck handle better on the rough stuff and make it more responsive to inputs as well. I weighed my bce, carbon tower, lightened outdrive scte against my friends bone stock scte and his was actually a few grams lighter. This was all with the same electronics and battery/tires/wheels. That really doesent bother me about the weight but my truck is more durable than stock.

Default MIP Bypass setup and body question

Hello everyone, has anyone tried the MIP bypass shock setup ? If their system works like a full size off road shock this should bring a new tuning option to the RC world. I read a couple days ago people talking about running +3 mm offset rims, what bodies are you running to get those wider rims under the body when the suspension compresses ? I have some and wind up with the outer treads of the tires ripped off from them rubbed the edge of the body, I just bought a new JC Raptor body and have the same problem. It's just not wide enough for these + offset rims I have. I raised the body up and that didn't seem to help all that much. That extra width does wonders for this truck at the track I run at. High speed high bite sweeping turns. Thanks for any info.

Wow, how can that be? Diff fluid vs grease?

Thanks for the hints on shock oil weight.

how is the box stock setup? The shocks seem way to stiff, is it normal to run them that way? All new to the truck so bear with me. I have read the truck is on the heavier side, I have a novak 550 4.5. That enough motor? Also what is the lowest mah lipo to make the truck finish 10 min race?

well...got the nano's the other day! So took the molex charging plugs that came with my duratrax 245 and desoldered the bullets and used those bullets on the plugs that came with the batts so i have charging plugs w/o spending more on the bullets since i would never use the molex anyways! Here's a pic of them charging up and i only got to run 1 yesterday and with punch still down to 2 the wires got warm but battery never warm like the gens ace did! Seems to be good but need to get out to the track and run...

I have the stock springs front and rear.

Could the problems be due to it now been oversprung / under-dampened?

Also are the racing black front springs and racing orange rear springs softer or harder than stock?

What would you suggest to settle the truck down?

Thanks!
well im running the bce chassis and tlr kit (well everything but the ha shocks)

my shocks are #2 pistons all around
32.5 front 1/4 rebound, black aftermarket spring
30 wt rear 1/4 rebound, stock rear spring
stock swaybars

and ive been TQ'ing and winning the last few weeks at my local outdoor track
