Just installed the Novak Activ8 in my SCTE. I had to put in a new battery tray to mount it as I had chopped my last tray and mounted the smaller Havok Pro to the chassis. This one wouldnt fit on the chassis. Anyway - 4.5lbs. Body, battery and tires are 2lbs so 6.5 lbs RTR.

Last time I raced there was no air compressor so it's a bit dirty dirty.

Pretty much what I said when I mounted mine. It takes up the entire mounting area.

But I have to say, it works Great! Very smooth, no fan on 2S and roughly 14 minutes on a 6600mah. Geared 12/40

Has anyone found a chassis protector worth the investment? The thickest/best I found previously was from AE. However, it was trashed in 2 races.
I know we are off roading here, but the bottom of the chassis looks like a graveyard really quick.. Not sure if the 1/8 scale guys have a suggestion? Something that doesn't incur a ton of drag would be of preference. Thx!

Default Castle 3800 with a MMP pinion question

Got a good deal on a Castle 3800 with a MMP SCT edition for the SCTE I am ordering, want to order a few pinion gears. Any ideas ? Was going to order a pack of 12,13,14 as a starting point need long run time with a 6600 65c battery. Small track. Would those be ok or too small. don't need LOTS of speed.
I know it's not the best ESC & motor in the world but I am on a tight budget
THANKS

those will be perfect, start with the 13 and expect about 12-14 minutes depending how hard your going.

Kyosho shocks are awesome but there notr really going to make that much of a difference.Ive tried them and im currently running 8 BB on mine now and theres a little difference but not much. The only reason i threw them on is because i had three sets sitting around.Like Casper said the shocks on the scte are really good.IMO Save your money for some tires.

Hey Grandturk how do you like that rear brace on your Bump chassis? I have the brace but haven't had a chance to run it yet. Right now I'm running the stock brace, did you notice a difference in the two

Try 30 wt all around if your using the bladders. For emulsion i'd try 35-40 wt stock pistons.
As for diff oil 5-5-3 or 5-5-2 is a good starting point. Right now i'm using 40wt shock oil emulsion style at all 4 wheels and running a 5-5 in the front and center and a half and half mixture of 2000/3000. My truck is the most dialed it's ever been.
