The 8 with 4 or more cells puts a lot more stress on the gearbox so they are more likely to need the Al inserts in the tranny. The scte does not have the power and torque that most are running in the 8.

I run the 8 2.0 plastic turnbuckle plastic on mine. It is a better grade of plastic and has not self adjusted on me in over a year. I think it helps in not needing the HA balls on the suspension. Cheap mod.

So you use the stock scte rods and balls?

The other is an mmp with a revtech 4xs 3800kv geared 13/40 coming off the track after 5 minutes at 195. Neither esc has any timing advance, ballistic is set at 15 on the label, turned it down to the edge of the label which is supposed to be 0 with no change in temp. The revtech was set on the long line, turned it down to the first short line and the temps went to 235, turned it up to the 2nd short line past the long line and we're back to 190 again. Both trucks are running gens ace 5000mah 2s 65c batteries. Manual states to start at 16t pinion with a 4.5 but I'm afraid to move up with the temps that I'm experiencing. Generally if I would be under-geared the esc would be hot but they're both running 110-120 after each 5 minute test session. Doesn't appear to be any binding in either truck that would cause the excessive motor temps. Really at a loss here guys, any help would be greatly appreciated!
First off, I would mate the RX8 with the RevTech, thats the setup I used.
Couldnt get the MMP to run it right.
Set the current limiter to around 75%, the 13t pinion should be fine.
Also, take the front off the RevTech and check to make sure the green O ring hasnt slid down the shaft, that will cause the rotor to slide forward and throw the timing off.
If it has moved, get some shims and shim it out to the equivalent of the O ring.
That happened to a buddy of mine, so when I got mine, that was the 1st thing we did. I did mount a heatsink to mine, just to keep the temps in check for the summer heat.

I ran an SC4X 5.5 with an MMP and I geared it with a 14 or 15. No timing.
I believe Tekin has a higher torque rotor, which is supposed to make it more like the new Pro 4 motors, and run cooler.
Something to look into.

Guys, I built my shocks frt. 3 pistons black springs and rear 4 pistons orange springs with 32.5wt all around. I built the rear with 1/2 rebound and the front with 1/4 rebound. I built them like the video with Drake but after coming off of the track when I push the car down the shocks are like dead with very little to no rebound. It seems if I work the shocks up and down the rebound returns a little bit and after sitting dies again. I have the TLR bodies and caps. Everything is brand new. How am I building these shocks wrong? I've nevers had this problem building LOSI shocks before. Thanks.

I built mine emulsion style with everything else the same as you except I use 30wt front and back. They work great for me.

I would like to put the dubro ends on the car as I think they would last a very long time and eliminate some of the slop. Does anybody have the part numbers for the pieces needed in the conversion?

thanks,
Jayson

I'm ready to buy a roller kit then sell my slash 4x4 to afford a motor/esc. Where is the best price for the kit?

Congratulations! You have just made the first step to becoming a serious racer in the 4x4 shortcourse class! Anyway, i'd check stormerhobbies.com, they usually have really low prices.

Default Losi part numbers for aluminum chassis

I'm a rookie with a new 1/10 electric 4x4. I'm getting the TLR kit, but also heard today at the track about an aluminum Losi chassis and maybe a new TLR kit which includes the chassis. What is the part number? What other parts and numbers of things that go with it? Thanks.

Well this is the place to look becuz they announce some things here before released so keep in touch but here is a link to everything hop-up wise for the SCTE and the chassis and the TLR kit are at the bottom but no word so far on a chassis and TLR kit combo that i know of but some of the Team drivers might know/speak up if anything is on the rise...
