Ohhhhh yeah +1 definitely on that. I'd say it's about 60% electric 40% nitro where i live.

I dont think it will create a racing class and yes it will sell!!There are prolly more bashers and enthusiasts than racers in the world of R/C !!I like it but only if Ryan sends me one for free!!!(I would promote it and wear My TLR hat every time I drive it)Cuz an extra 500 bucks in this hobby goes a short way when you race!!What up Jayson!!! Come out and race at Peg wit us soon!!!

Bought my combo from Falconsekido.com for 191.xx shipped to my door with the 4700 but think i might go to the 4000 down the road...i wanna be able to play with my gearing alittle more depending on where im at since the esc doesnt have a limiter to cut down power on smaller tracks

I'm thinking about getting the Hobbywing combo, it's similar to speed passion setup and I've had no issues with them. Is the 4700kv a 4-pole? Also would you recommend the 4000kv or 4700kv?
There a great price I noticed

I will be racing indoors and on 1/8 scale outdoor tracks. I am happy, but have a few questions.

1. I like the performance of the diff grease, but what difference does the diff fluid make?
2. How often does the grease or diff fluid need to be changed?
3. After 8 min main, motor came off at 170 and esc 124. Guys at the track recommended getting a fan (ftw or something). Any recommendations? I live n the south.
4. Any fan mount recommendations?
5. Any recommendations on locked wheel hexes?
6. Is a aluminum servo saver or aluminum steering rack needed?
7. Is the stock servo arm ok, or should I get and aluminum?

Thanks.
Thanks for everyone input. Anyone else have any thoughts?

well the 4700 is big and yes, its 4 pole...but if you big tracks and wanna go big the 4700 is for you...

Im gonna drop to the 4000 sometime when i can afford it but will still stick with their stuff(hobbywing) as im very happy with it but miss being able to play with gearing to do more like the 3500 i had in my Sl4sh and would like to be able to do that again and lot of people say the 4000 is a good motor for 2s and a good all around motor and the 4700 has alot of grunt which isnt bad on 13 or 14t as i was hitting 38mph but stuck with 13t just to be safe and keep temps down

Not only does it never break... It spins twice as fast as the tekin fan... But it's too wide to fit under the grill... I just may cut the grill off the rx8 and put 1 off those on there or get a hw sctpro... Since that fan is the same size.

DO NOT CUT the cage on the RX8, Its part of the Board/heatsink support and If you cut it, Thing's WILL go bad.

Received my $140 SCT-Pro esc and Tenshock sensored motor combo from funshobby in 10 days. Even though it was free shipping they still sent it EMS. I was expecting slow boat shipping. Impressed.

Someone asking about motor fans; this is my (overkill) that I made with stuff lying around. Works great

Here is my take on the leaky diff issue:

Anyone using the rpm arms yet? Thinking about picking up a set and just wondering if anyone has some thoughts on them.

From what I have gathered the RPM arms have too much flex and are more suited toward the "basher" and not the racer. I do how ever love the RPM front bumper.

the same scissors that U used to cut your body's. turn the fan over stick the end of the scissors in to with the curved side following the fan blade. and trim. heres before and after pictures. double click on the small picture and see how it turns out

You can cut the top out IF you are careful to leave the part that holds the heatsink down . I did it at a race a couple months ago because the original fan stopped working and I thermaled during a heat race in 95+ degree heat and all I had were 30 x 30 x 10mm fans and you need 7mm fans .

Been working ever since and the 10mm fans work better than the 7mm fans and are MUCH cheaper .
