That Speedpassion heatsink looks great, love how you can bolt the fan to it.

Is there a US distributor?

Ok it seems like everyone with a Tekin 4.5 motor is heating alot even with a 14.

My friend Kyle Johnson with losi had the same problem with the rx8 to, then he switched it to the novak 4.5 and worked flawlessly and didnt shut off because of the overheating. To me it seems like theres a problem with the motors, because in mine i run a mmp with a novak 4.5 and my other a neu 1509 1.5d motor and they havent gone over 155 with a 15t and 16t pinion. i dont know how some of you are getting like 180 and that

Yeah I'm not having any heat problems with the RX8, it's just the motor getting hot. Kinda sucks. I've always run Tekin and been extremely happy.

I live by this ..Although not always true, a rule of thumb is:
Hot motor, cool controller, cool batteries = undergeared
Cool motor, hot controller, hot batteries = overgeared
Warm motor, warm controller, warm batteries = happy components

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...C-Carbon-Black

Awsome esc, just as fast as the tekin rs and has a 300 amp constant and 800 amp burst, works awsome with any motor and its cheep and easy to program

Should be getting my truck tuesday

I thought so but not the case with my Tekin 4.5T. I started at 16T and I'm now down to 14T and that seems to be working better but it's sucking the hell out of my 6500 mAh lipo. So I'll be switching to a Tekin 5.5T instead. I really believe the 4.5T is not a good match with that 40T spur gear in this rig but with the 5.5T you should have more room to play with in regard to pinions and hopefully run a little longer while keeping temps cooler.....so I've read.

The RX8 already has a fan and that isn't the issue with heating up, it's the SCx4 4.5T that's cooking.

And is it me or does the hardware feel cheap. My hudy and eds tools have a hard time fitting into the heads (yes they are standard size).

I just finished mine and that was one thing I noticed. Most of the allen heads are pretty snug. (yes they are standard)
