1st time running the truck last night and had a blast!!!, Running MM pro SC( flame away SC rage,as you always do) with the 3800kv CC 1410 motor geared with a 15 tooth pinion and it was a rocket with tons of punch. The Castle combo showed me temps of 130* after 6 minute heats and putting in right around 2800mah. Running 2s turnigy 5000 mah 20-30c batts. TQ and 2nd place finish in the main, one hell of a battle in the main 5-6 lead changes finishing with in 3 seconds of each other.

I will say that I ran a 16 tooth in practice and ran down to the cutoff, puffed one of my $20 turningy batts seriously though my concern is that if you are a hard on the throttle pin it to win it racer, you will not have the same results I had.

Not sure how the others in this thread drive but my (4) MM pros have been flawless for me, no bashing just racing.

I puffed 2 batteries yseterday. Both had lower c ratings, 30 and 35 and were older IP packs. This truck don't like the cheap low current batteries. No problems with my Reedy 60c/5500 or my Protek 50c/5600.

I raced yesterday and in my main I ran more conservativly, more like I drive my 2wd buggy, instead of full balls out and I was definatly faster. Lead the whole race and never looked back. I love the off power steering! Just let off right before a hair pin turn and it turns on a dime.

I am running the 8ight big bores, Green springs all the way around, 27.5 oil, 5-5-3 in the diff's and this thing is super hooked. I really don't think there is another truck on the market that can touch it. I really beleive ANY driver will be faster with this truck.

Anyone know where I can find a Tekin RX8? Seems everyone is out of stock and they're back-ordered everywhere I've looked.

I ran my truck a little durning practice for our nitro race and it handles great. The shocks work very well in the rough sections and limit body roll. I ran the truck stock with the fluids and a few hopups CF towers, alum hubs, alum shock caps but I was surprised how good it felt compared to the slash. The MMP did fine as long as I dont run a sensor wire then it makes this horrible ticking noise and dosent go anywhere. I only ran a total of 3 packs through it but IMO the truck works great. It should get better with actual fluid in the diffs. IDK about the diff pins but the center outdrives seem to wobble a little more than when it was new. Great truck though.

Just bought the piston pack. What sizes come in it ? The 3 that comes stock in truck is what size hole ? How do you fill and bleed the oil with no hole in the shock cap ?

I ran my truck again with the RX8 and novak balistic 4.5 combo and im quite disappointed with the topend performance of this combo. Im running a 14t pinion with a Thunder power 5200 50c 2cell lipo.
Im thinking that 3cell might be better. Our track is large with a 175 foot straight.
The truck on the other hand felt awsome in the infeild. It cleared everything and didnt washout everywhere on the dusy surface.
Sad to say though that it is down for the count with a broken front arm, shock top, and a bent steering turnbuckle.

What pistons front and rear? I thought about trying my 8ight shocks on it just for shiz and giggles next time at the track.

My only beef is the spur gear. Why a 40T? I would have gone with a 45T. My Slash is geared at 14/54 with the same motor ESC setup and its a rocket with no heat issues and long run times. Just my. 02.

Can you do 3S on a NOVAK 4.5?? I'm only asking since on a Tekin SC4x 4.5T its only 2S. Just wondering

Last night at the lhs, I seen a 4x4 short course using a four cell lipo, and using the mmp/1415 wow, that was sick!
It hasn't fried up yet, mine is doing good as well.

Chief, The Losi may have a different ratio in the ring & pinion, hence the 40 tooth spur. Thats why the Durango has such a big spur (54 tooth). The Traxxas is about a pound lighter, and will run cooler all other things being equal.
