WOW! Thats crazy! I have a Pro4 4000 in mine and I put in anywhere from 5000-5600 back in after 14-15 minutes!

Why is their even discussion about the motor hanging out on the kinghead chassis? Is anyone taking time to look at the illustration on their website? Its pretty self explanitory.

Also, what size motor was used for that diagram? 540? A 550 or even a 540L like the tenshock or the viper copperhead system would certainly exacerbate the problem right? Meh, I'm just saying... maybe it will be fine and no one will have an issue, but to me, it just looks vulnerable and I wouldn't feel comfortable with my motor in that position.

There are so many people on the take recommending this chassis or that now, either sponsored by or working for so and so that it has gotten ridiculous. I'll say no more about it. Everyone run what they want. I will stick with the best.
wow, nice zero tooth pinion... why don't you take a picture with your pinion on..

I'm running a 16t on a castle 3800kv 550 motor.. notice my motor mount, its all the way out, cause of this thing called a pinion...

the 4600 pro 4 runs a smaller pinion than the castle 3800,so that might be the reason it's all the way in.( maybe different type of track between yall) I originally thought the motor hung out also, but it looks like it's not what it seemed. only thing I would still be concerned on is the room for the center line drive shafts because of the diff being moved more to the center, will technically mean the center drive line will be closer to the output cups on the center diff. I remember when the truck first came out guys that were running the stock outputs from the center driveline were bending their rear center driveshaft from the chassis flexing when landing jumps,(that was with stock chassis) maybe that chassis is stiff enough to not allow any flex, still curious how much less room there is at the center diff if there is any flex.

I am hoping that the front outdrive of the center diff take longer to wear out the bushing insert in the center diff too... Again, not taking anything away from the other chassis... but the king heads is a great piece so far.
if you pull the front of the motor in like you did that means the rear has to come out an equal amount, shift the tail of the motor outward away from the center of the truck changing its balance.

so whats the deal with all the pocketing?

No, he doesn't have a pinion on, there isn't even the center diff/spur on the chassis

Depends on the axis. It looks as if the axis is at the rear face of the motor or the end bell. If the axis is in the middle of the motor then yes the rear would protrude out the equal amount that the front recessed towards the center. But judging by the craftmanship and machine work along with the motor mod, I would have to imagine these guys would be idiots if the axis were anywhere but the endbell.

You'll love the Pro4 4600 compared to the Castle sensorless stuff, night and day difference if you can stay on your wheels!

Sure kingheadz employee, my truck was apart for a complete rebuild. The motor is exactly where it goes when fully assembled, using the wear marks on the motor adapter as a guide. I can gladly take another photo if you makes you feel better, but I can assure you it doesn't hang out over teh chassis like yours does. Which by the way, looks like a 540 motor, not a 550 as you stated and it's hangin right out there. I don't even know that castle makes a 3800 kv 550?

I run the 1410 3800KV castle on a small tight outdoor track, I use 16-1800 mah on a 5 min run 14t pinion.

If anything, once fully built, it's in even further then I first indicated and tried to demonstrate. But the others are right, this is boring, and not a path I wanted to go down. You want to run it like that, go ahead, I'm not.

Here is my kingheadz driveshaft sleeve, lest you think I am hatin on a particular company.

Ran my truck for the first time yesterday. This is my second go around with one of these. My question is will the spring kit smoothe out the way it rides. Whenever I was in a whoop section it was very unstable, very bouncy. I run 32.5 shock oil, stock springs, and the bladders are cut emulsion style. Running Dakotahs set up of the Losi site. Any info on how to smoothe her out is greatly appreciated.
