I noticed during practice today that my RX8 fan quit. It has no damage or anything it just quit. I guess it's not supposed to last more than a month and a half. I ordered 3 fans from China because I'll be damned if I spend $10 a piece on Tekin fans. I'm sure I will have to change the plug when they get here. I'm sure I can still race but anything longer and my temps start getting up there.

Just call Tekin, if it's still under warranty and they send you a replacement. They come in packs of two. I've had my RX for well over a year racing every weekend and I've only replaced the fan once.

I called tekin a while back about my fan. They said the fan wasn't really needed until outside temps hit over 100 degrees. It's something about more air flow to the fins. I've been running with out a fan ever since and never hit past five lights on the internal temp.

I just got an RX8 and I'm getting ready to order a sensored motor. Does anyone know how the Tekin Pro4 and the Tenshock SC411 compare? Is the Pro4 worth the extra money?

Different kick angle changes your caster

Well I also see TenShock has 8 pole motors out now. WOW man if they could just sensor these bad boys it would be nice. We might be able to start running motors small than 540 if this keeps up I want a 16 pole 440 can motor that can blow the tires off and run on 1s lipo

i would think so. i've never run the SC4X, but i have run a 4.5 novak and the tenshock has more grunt down low and because of the torque, the temps stay lower (you can gear it higher). the SC411 is as smooth as anything out there so they're probably even in that department. the tenshock motors are not only a great bargain, but they will compete (and be better than most if not all) with anything out there performance wise as well.

that's what i'm using and am very happy. i ran the 4600 and the 5200 SC401. the 5200 was a little smoother and had a larger powerband, but i felt like the 4600 had a bit more down low. i would recommend the 4600.
