If you want to know how changing the oil viscosity in each diff affects your car, google search "jq theguide" or "Hudy set up guide" and download the .pdf of each and read up on diff tuning. Keep a copy in your tool box so you can reference them at any time if you forget what the different car settings can potentially do.

As far as changing the oil, that depends on how much you run or race or how much you like to maintain your car. For this car, I maintain the diffs regularly (I used to run twice a week and change them every 3 weeks or before big races).
Here you go...

Most of the slop left in the system is in the servo saver post. Ryan is always working to make the car better.

I finally got a chance to run my new SCTE setup today. I started with the Phend/Lane setup and then made the following changes:

F: purple spring, 3/32.5, Middle/Outside position, +2 turns out
R: orange spring, 4/30, Outside/Outside position, stock length

+2 kick up/caster in the front

Battery tray 1/2" back from the stock rearmost position. Basically a 50/50 F/R distribution.

The truck drove great. The 4600 is definitely easier to drive. The suspension changes gave the truck a little more on power steering and made it less twitchy compared to my last setup.

I'm still new to this truck. Are the rear diff cups supposed to move around a lot? It seems totally different from the front diffs.'I've read thriugh the manual and searched online. Just trying to confirm if this is normal or not
Thanks

Yep, I have a lot of play, and this is on my new one. I just bought another 4x4 and retired my old race truck. Everything else is tight. Is Ryan working on a new part, if so do you know how much longer.

I swapped out my outdrives in the center diff to the lightened ones and after re-assembling everything correctly it's real tight and there seems to be a spot that catches. I'm sure it's assembled correctly. Did it a few times. I'm curious, would there be a downside to taking out the small shims that sit behind the spider gears? I'd rather do that then double the gasket.

Hey guys,
Ive been out of R/C for a little while now, but am deciding to come back in, and Im thinking of picking up a Losi Ten SCTE, But I am a little shaky on which motor/esc system to choose. Im mainly going to be using this for bashing around in the front yard (neighbours have slash 4x4's) and some track use (Not actual racing, just going there to practice/etc..), and of course offroad bashing.

Im thinking:
Tekin rx8 esc
Tekin 5.5 550 motor
With a 3s 5000mah 40c Lipo?

The other route I was thinking was going with the Castle 2400kv system..

Any thoughts?

Haha I do know that one (Have quite alot of 2s's)..
But for general bashing/playing around, does the setup I posted above seem alright? Im pretty much stuck between the tekin or the castle
