My scte, rx8 and pro4 are on the truck, prob be here in a few days and I'll probably know more bout how it goes together once i read the manual and look at it all. it looks like you solder your wires to the esc, but i am hoping that i can use some bullet style plugs on the other end possibly? I wanna be able to swap motors. If it doesnt come with something like that, i wanna look in to it. i dont want to have to unsolder.

you will end up soldering wires to your motor. im not to sure if you can run bullets into the esc or not. i read in here somewhere where someone did something with some bullets on the rx8 esc. if i were you i would just use the bullets in the wires.

Ah! That makes sense! Like the slash 4x4, the bullets in the wires. DUH. I'm totally cool with that. I'll do that. It'll all make sense when I get it too... I'll probably head down to my LHS too to discuss stuff before i commit to it all.
Thanks

solder wires to the motor and have bullets coming off and do the same to the esc, SO U can plug and play with different motors. Just keep the wires short as possible. Long wires are no good at all.

I love the pro4/RX8 combo with my nano techs.
Are you also direct soldering everything? I go straight to the battery with bullet connectors soldered on the ends of each wire. BTW what kv pro4 are you using

Tekin folks recommend soldering the motor this way:

Apparently this decreases the strain on the motor tabs.

Hey there, I am thinking of getting the JConcepts Double Dee's mounted on the JConcepts Rulux wheels. Would this be recommended for indoor? What are most racers using as to wheels and tires?

Your just looking for a DNF because eventually one of them plugs are gna just melt off. Direct solder is the best. Period!!!
If you have the pro 4 why would you wanna swap it to something else anyway?

I agree direct solder is the best, period.
But, In the past I have never had a bullet connection ever melt on me from the esc to motor. When I used to do that type of connection I would only use 6.5mm bullets which maybe gave me different results.

I have gotten 12 minutes, indoor, HIGH traction, smooth clay, with MMP/Pro4 4000 geared 15/40 (battery took almost 5400 back in, did not hit cutoff yet though!) Will be putting in my RX8 soon though!
