Havent ever heard of that. Check to make sure neither of the two shoulder screws holding the ackerman arms is loose. Sometimes those loosen up a little and hit the top plate.

Hello -

http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...x_pro_sct.html

Is that compatible with 2s 65c 5600mah in a SCTE? It seems to be a 3s and up system.

I would rather stick to 2s due to cost so if there is another system in the CC line for that heavy truck that would offer the same sort of performance on 2s, fill me in!

If not, I can definitely go 3s.

Thanks.

If you are absolutely set on Castle for money or loyalty reasons, you want a 1410 4 pole motor, 3800kv

http://www.castlecreations.com/products/nc1410.html

and an MMP ESC. That will get you a great "cheap" 2S package.

If money is no object, I would go with an Tekin RX8 and a Tekin Pro4 4600kv 4pole motor.

Alternatively, you could try out one of the soon released Viper combos for about $150 (if the amain hobbies price is correct for pre-order). They are untested real world since they havent been released yet, but they have been tested at great length by this forum's original poster.

Queue the ESC wars.... in 3.. 2... 1...

thanks. while i'm not particularly allegiant to castle, they were the first brand i used to get into brushless a few years ago and i thoroughly enjoyed the quality...and i then dipped out of large scale (again). i think the mmp with the 1410 is perfect for my intentions this go-round, thanks. realistically, i don't see needing me anything past 3s, even when playing around.

The CC SCT Race Spec is a MMP+1410 and designed specifically for 2S racing; I doubt you can run a 3S with that motor. In speaking with CC, this IS the recommended CC solution for the SCTE. I had asked a similar question in this thread a few pages ago. One common issue I've read consistently is the glitching with the MMP. A BEC or glitch buster seems to resolve it, but is another component you need add ($). I'm still on the fence to go with MMP+1410 or return it and move to the more expensive but complete solution; the RX8+4600 combo.

Strange, the MMP+1410 combo is available at several hobby stores but no info on Castle's site. Anyone knows why?

haha, that's the problem with this thread - it's so big, if you start from the end, you miss the earlier stuff, and if you start from the beginning, you miss the later stuff! i'm still working through it.

but interestingly, the 1410 says 3s max on the can. i think what throws most people off is the combination that castle features on the site with the entry level ESC and the 1410 - the limiting factor past 2s is the ESC there, not the motor.

Newbs should never doubt,
This motor works quite well on 3s when geared properly and is well documented
Now don't get me wrong, not just anyone should try this, leave that to those who have more experience with brushless

that happend to me when i put on the snr cf ackerman arm and cf hinge pin holders, what happend was that the rear side of the gear box was not seated right, so i shaved a little off the cf hinge pin holders and it dropped right into place and the ackerman arm cleared the gear box.
