I've owned a few J Concept bodies for my hyper 10sc, They dont last one bit. You could spend alot of time beefing it up with shoe goo but really not worth the time.

I Goop (Shoe Goo) every body I have own and trust me, it really helps... Yes, the inside looks crappy but keep the paint from chipping/scratching and helps the body stay in tack longer.

I'm not blasting JC that their products are grabage, I think they make great tires, foams, wheels etc etc but the lexan quality is suspect at best.

I somewhat agree on the bodies. I put a new Jconcept body on my Durango DNX408 a couple weekends ago. In the first heat it broke right behind the front body clip. I go into the long straight away and all of a sudden the body is pointing straight up in the air. All the time and money to paint it and it lasted about 5 minutes! Never again, and the Jconcept body on my SCTE did not last very long at all. The stock Losi body is stronger and better material in my opinion.

We goop and re-regoop. I rececently added a 3rd front center body post that seems like a promising solution to slowing down the cracking in the front behind the fenders that happens in just about all bodies eventually. Need a few more runs to really decide how it will work.

I tried concepts on both my 10 and 8ight. pro line is the best. Period.. but I drive like a mad man in heat after that last one standing at closing time.
I really like my flow tech ,, it flies straight and does not act like a parachute. JMO

i was worried about the flo tech holding up with all the holes in it. i am hard on bodies but the pro line has out lasted any other i have used. just getting ready to order another 1.

I think it all has to do with how the body is molded and how many sharp corners are in the shape of the body . Seems too me bodies that have sharp angles in them crack at those points easier ?

I have a JC Raptor on my Hyper10 that is over a year old and has many races/practice sessions on it and its only cracked by the front fenders where most bodies crack anyways .

BTW I use shoe goo and drywall tape as well , makes ANY body last much longer than without . There are other things you can do as well to help save your bodies from cracking like making a large plastic washer to help keep the holes around the body mounts from cracking , I use the plastic from coffee cans but detergent bottles are a good source of scrap plastic .

Here is a pic of my Hyper with the plastic coffee can body savers , it adds support too the body around the mounting holes and helps keep it from cracking .

Here is the center post I added. I can't claim to be the originator of the idea. It was posted on this thread awhile back. It eliminates most of the flex that occurs in that area of the body. I've run it in one race session and it held up well. I think its in old T-Maxx body post (not sure, came from parts bin) and a Losi 810 front body mount.

Thinking about getting the Ten-Sct. I'm an ok racer are there any parts that i must have? The trucks almost 300 not looking to spend much more. All the fast guys at my track are running the AE or the Durango but i like to be different..

Default possible solution to nose-diving

Hey all,
I used to have varying amounts of nose diving issues on my scte, but figured out the reason why it was happening. It had everything to do with the amount of rear droop.

The first time I had this issue, I had set my ride height really high trying to cope with a track that had a lot of rough spots. when I took it to another track, I had uncontrollable nose diving. FYI - there was no binding any my suspension or drivetrain anywhere. when I set my ride height back down to 28-30mm, most of the nose diving went away, thank goodness!

Once I realized that rear droop might be an issue for nose diving, I made one last adjustment to get a little more - I moved the lower mount of the rear shocks from the outer most position to the middle position. Now, my car flies beautifully and I have completely control of it in the air.

My gut feeling is that this info might be generalizable to everyone, but I don't know for sure. If you're having nose diving issues, give this a try and it might solve your issues like it did mine!

(note: my current set-up is virtually identical to the Dakota Phend set-up with the exception that I'm running associated 27.5 weight shock oil all around and 7-5-3 associated diff oil. Also, I extended all of my shock lengths by turning the shock ends to turns outward. Lastly, I run on big 1/8th scale tracks with big air jumps.)

is the 810 chassis the same size as the SCTE chassis?

No, it is shorter. Don't know the exact amount, but about an inch shorter.
