The ESC stays about 120-130. Could the ESC be a big factor in the heat of the motor? I'm planning on getting a RX8 but LHS was out of them.
If you're running timing, I'd turn it down quite a bit or drop a couple of teeth on your pinion. I went from running a 16T on my CC 1410 3800kv motor and dropped all the way down to a 13T on my Tekin Pro4 4600. dropping the tooth count on my pinion dropped my temps considerably and allowed me to still run a little bit of timing.

In the mains...it was the Losi SCTE, in the top 6 out of the ten drivers...

Casper took the win with a Tekin Rx8 and Tekin 4600
Kevin (me) took second with a Tekin Rx8 and Tekin 4600
Scott Kelley took third with a Tekin 4600 and a XERUN 120amp speedo Fixed
Hacker07 ( Ryan ) took 4th , after his car shut off , while in second, but ran great..
Ryan runs Viper speed control and a Viper 550 motor.
Kevin, I had a blast running with you, Ryan and Casper tonight. Man, you are FAST! We all obviously know how fast Ryan and Casper are, but you're right there with them and you ran strong all night long! I was glad to finally put in a good showing after how poorly I did in the qualifying heats. Good seeing you tonight, hopefully I'll get to run with you more often. BTW, glad you liked running that Nano-tech 65-130c 6000mah bat, hard to believe how good of a battery that thing is for the price! Thanks for showing me how to look up my MAH on my charger too, can't believe i couldn't figure that out

DANG IT!!!!! Well that's a lot better than the esc like you originally thought! Good seeing you tonight Ryan, thanks for your help as always!

got a few weak spots on the scte body I need to touch up!!
It's both a preventative measure as well as a mending tool. I use drywall tape in the high stress areas, then Shoe Goo over it in several thin coats. This builds strength in the high stress areas and will prevent premature cracking. But as the body does get worn and does crack, you can use a piece of the drywall tape to hold the body together where the crack is, then use Shoe Goo again to fill and mend it and add strength back to that area. It works VERY well. The drywall tape really adds to the strength as well, not just the Shoe Goo but they should be used together. You can use Shoe Goo without using the drywall tape, but you can't use the drywall tape without using the Shoe Goo. Hope that helps!

Definitely, I own 2 now and couldn't be happier.
I've owned all the SCT's except the Durango and the AE4WD, the Durango is a sweet ride but parts availibilty and prices made me shy away and the AE is over engineered and looks troublesome to wrench on IMO.

Perhaps it would be quicker to use the search function, all of this info has been covered many times before.

In short you should run the brace that best suits the track you are on. There are a number of choices, some will require drilling a new hole, but I would suggest you run the truck with the current braces and only get other ones if you find it flexes too much for you in it's current state.

Hacker has posted a number of times that they are developing Hard Anodized shock bodies. I haven't seen any dates for their release yet though.

Hope this helps ..... I do this to every body I run as it makes them last much longer .

It all goes on AFTER the body is finished , lay the fiberglass drywall tape down then squeeze out some shoe goo and then spread it out to cover the tape . I have found thinner coats to work better than putting it on thick as it flexes with the paint better . You also dont want to take too long spreading it out and moving the tape around as it can soften the pain while its wet .

does it dry clear and paintable if applied directly to the underside??

It does dry clear and I use it on the outside as well when repairing cracks . You really need the drywall tape if you are repairing as the shoe goo by itself wont last long .

any help from the guys that have used this would be greatly appreicated!!!!
got a few weak spots on the scte body I need to touch up!!

Come on over and check mine out if you are at CCX next saturday , hopefully I will be at RaceEm on Sunday but I'm not sure yet .

You can use just show goo to protect the paint where the body might rub (under the body mounts and where the side nerf bars rub the sides of the body. For places you are looking to add strength the dry wall tape trick scott talked about works awesome. If you know were the body will crack I would add it up front. IT works for repairs as well but not as good as if it was there from the get go to prevent the crack in the first place.

Like already answered we are testing Hard Anodized shocks right now. They are working awesome and should be relased soon although I am not aware of an offical date yet.
