well just bought one thursday and ran it yesturday for the first time at LRT raceway in Waterloo IA for the annual Roat and Race...truck is f-ing dialed! ended up qualing 3rd and won the main, truck was on rails and was very easy to drive. only issue I am having is when I hit the brakes sometimes it makes like a grinding noise? everything feels smooth when rolling it by hand....and brakes r not locking up so I am not running to much brake?

It's the diff gears slipping on hard brake. You can shim the gears to mesh better and eliminate a little slop on the drives. Or dial your brakes down till you don't hear that.

Gotcha. Yeah I shimmed the center before I ran yesterday and it did the same thing. Did the same to the front and rear diff today and haven't tested it yet. Hoping that fixes the issue and maybe a little less brake programmed, like you said. cheers.

just save yourself a lot of trouble and turn your brakes down I had same problem and shimming was a pain to get close and when I thought I had it right it still made the noise I was to the point were another shim would bind the gears and without would grind so I just turned the braking down a little and no noise and have been running that way for months with no problem I was running way to much brakes in the first place my rear end was coming off the ground when I hit the brakes all the way not good!

I had the same thing happen on mine and I just kept running it. 3 quals later it was the rear diff gears and not the ring and pinion.

just finished a 3day event yesterday and posted a 3rd place overall with the first race with this truck. I was running an rx8 with pro4 4000kv and it was blazin a trail! super fast. after a lot of tuning to run on a blue groove dry track the truck was dialed. The first main would have gotten a 2nd place finish but my battery died on the last lap, dialed the current limiter back to 85% and had my dad plug me in and set me on the track.

posted 3rd place in every main and came home with the 3rd place overall so im stoked.
