Hey all...I am super glad to see all the excitement over the 5ive-T...there is a thread dedicated to it in the large scale side of the house so lets try to keep it on topic or at least kill the pics if you are going to comment about it, haha.

Yes, the chassis and tuning kit are in stock now in the warehouse. The new aluminum clamping wheel hexes will be here soon and are part number LOSB3493. They come 2 to a pack so you will need 2 packs for your vehicle.

I'd like to get some feedback on it from here too, like if I need different/shorter screws, etc or if it's basically just going to be a transfer from one chassis to the other.
With the TLR chassis, you have the option of mounting the diff on the plastic plate or mounting it directly to the chassis, if you want to mount it direct, you would need shorter screws for the center diff or to cut the existing ones down.

What would be the advantage if any mounting it directly to the chassis instead? Is this the way you have it right now?

It will lower the CG and decrease the angle of the front and rear shafts to the center diff. The draw back with the TLR chassis is you leave the holes in the bottom of the chassis open but we have not seen this as a problem with excessive dirt getting in the truck with our testing.

Excuse my ignorance as the truck is not right in front of me and I have not memorized every square cm...yet!!! What would stop you from doing this with the stock chassis until my TLR chassis comes? Just curious.

From my research (and communications between Tony at Tony's screws), the center diff screws are 8-32 x 1/2 and is not indicated in the manual or the exploded parts view. I'm guessing that 8-32 x 3/8 will be the correct size to use if you omit the plastic plate, correct?

The image below is from the picture I took of the center diff screws compared to some 8-32 x 3/8 screws from the Tony kit.

You have to dremel the chassis below where the the spur gear is or it will hit.

Yes, 8/32 x 3/8 will work. Its the same size as is used for the front and rear clip. I would take two of the longer screws and put them in the front most 2 holes of the front diff. Originally we were going to use the 3/8 for the center diff too, but we found some of the testers stripped them out which is why they changed to the 1/2 at the last minute.

Thanks, I'll do that. You're talking about the screws that hold the front bumper between the chassis and the clip, correct? Do you recommend doing this to prevent the screws from stripping out of the clip or for a different reason? I haven't stripped those out (yet).

Edit: If I don't have another 2 8/32 x 3/8 screws handy, is it OK if I swap them out from either of the other 6 clip screws available?

Any suggestions for setup on the Novak SC ESC & 4.5 combo? The motor is running around 170 right now after a 7 min run & the ESC hit 190 when the fan died with my current set up.

I don't have any timing in it yet and was thinking of eliminating the drag brake?

Most of us don't run drag break on these trucks. There is enough drag in the motor and drive train to eliminate the need of it. This will help some with heat. 170 is not bad for the motor but 190 on the ESC is pretty hot. Might want to track down another fan!
