Belt could work, I would think some type of slipper would be needed though....hmm belt drive with a center diff. and a slipper, no wonder it's taking so F'n long!!!

Scary to think what that's going to cost us...not sure I want to pay $400 for one of these..

B44.1 sells for $340...tc6 sells for $375. I'm sure their 4wd SCT would be somewhere around those prices also.

Dirt, IMO. I've never been a fan of all the plastic covers, tunnels, trays, etc. needed to seal a belt system from the elements. Way too much BS to see what's going on. And I just think it looks cheap but that's me.

AE likely wouldn't be so foolish as to use a belt drive. It creates far too many issues, especially in the SCT market. A more user friendly design would sell more trucks.

Exactly...., plus the added inconvince of maintenance. Belted off road vehicle are usually quite difficult to do track maintenance & repairs to the drivetrain... I would hope AE doesn't make the same mistake Tamiya made with TRF501/511 with exposed drivetrain, making the car not so popular on American style dirt tracks, dirt & loose debree destroys exposed drivetrain parts...

I rather have to extra performance the belt delivers , the shields will take care of any dirt issue clogging the belts....

Ae will prove , no belt = you lose sucka...

If it is a SCT, it better come in around $250-$270 or buying AE over the new Losi or the Jammin will be a hard sell to me. I like AE and have a B4 and a T4, but I'd buy a Losi SCT if the AE is $80-$90 more.

Belts are very efficient & simple , they also absorb bumps & shock on landings.
Belts also provide better acceleration on slippery surfaces...

and

no torque steer that has haunted shaft drive..
