Default B44 differentials different?

I am looking to order parts to rebuild both diffs.
My LHS said the front and rear are different in most aspects but the complete diff kit on Tower says "for front or rear" and includes everything from thrust balls, to diff rings, gear, and nylon T nut.

Anyone have actual part #s or clarification? I found many but don't wanna order the wrong stuff.

Thanks.

Front and rear are exactly the same apart from the centre driveshafts being different length. Just look at the manual on the AE website for part numbers.

Yeah the diffs are the same internally. Check out blackbeard rc for some great diff kits for the B44. Wheeler is a little tougher on diffs. A lot of people are running the diffs tight in the B44 as well.

Your LHS don't know sh#! Go to AE's site and down load the manual to get part numbers. They make the ring and pinion in a black/grey composite now.

Thanks for the help guys.
The person I asked is a very good mod driver but still a teenager and we both admitted we weren't familiar with 4wd vehicles so I'm not faulting him but this does make it a lot easier to order what I need.

Happy Weekend!!!

I'll never fault a guy for not knowing something, it's imposible to know every detail about every car out there today. I still have to look stuff up time to time and I'm strictly, well 99% AE (insert need for 4x4 SCT here) but he gave you bad info saying they weren't the same, tsk tsk

No info is better than bad info..IMO.....and now you know they are the same

They are identical. If that is a buggy your lhs sells, and they dont know, and dont take the time to look it up in a manual or on the internet, while your in their store - you dont need to back there to buy from them any more.

I strongly believe in supporting your lhs, when they know about the products they sell, or where to find the right answers to help the customer.
