Default Hilarious ad for a vintage RC10

I know we're not supposed to post links, but I'm not posting this to sell the thing, it's just an incredibly funny ad for a gold pan RC10.. I think you guys would get a kick out of it, especially if you were around when the original came out. The guy obviously has no clue about RC stuff, and thinks what he's found is some RARE relic where everything still has race-able value.

My favorite line is this;
"if you'll look in front of the transmission you can see this Black plate between the trans. and the Green resistor type thing ,on all the other cars like this one its not there ,I believe its something the driver (JAMMIN JAY) and the owners put on it"

he's, of course, referring to the manual speed control they ALL came with prior to esc's, but thinks it's a special "speed" item.

Anyway, this is it; ebay.com/Assoc-RC10-WON-85-World-Championship-JAPAN-Delmar-/150541837422?pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item23 0cfe246e

Quite the history lesson in the description...pretty cool. Best part is the vintage picture of Ralph Burch Jr!

Yeah really that car Jay had is probably LONG GONE....
There was a seller I talked to a couple years ago he thought he
had a rare relic like that guy above said, He offered me $700 for it.
I immediatly turned him down because he was asking far too much money.
Turns out he sold it on ebay for $165....
Some rare relic I thought..

"The cirrus remote is one of the best...."

Not even being sarcastic but my DVD remote has more capabilities than that thing!!!

At least he's got $100 for it so far.

glad you guys are enjoying it. A weird coincidence, but this thread started today as well http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...ml#post8450766 with a similar feel to it.
I bought my uncles first gen RC10 a month ago for nostalgia reasons, and when I was talking to him about it before buying he really thought maybe the stuff had current value (for racing) too.

I think I may rebuild mine WITH the rheostat speed control, just for old-schoolness.
