I ran both a 2200kv and 1900kv motor in my RC8BE this past season. (On 4S) The tracks I tested at were pretty large, so they both did pretty well. However, the 1900kv was definitely much more manageable and smoother.

I have a Tekin 1900kv, but personally I prefer my 2200kv Tekno on 4S. A matter of taste, I guess.

+1 for 1900kv on 4s
I gotta be honest I don't understand the 1900kv on 5s when in my experience on a 190'x90' track the 1900kv or 1800kv on 4s was plenty fast down the straight and very smooth. I can't imagine more power right now, it's not needed.
Another thing is my throttle EPA is at 100% and doesn't have to be tamed down like guys have to do with the overpowerd setups that I have seen.
Not to mention the less amp draw that equates to longer run times than a 2200kv or 2650kv on 4s but this doesn't apply if using 5s.

1400 on 5s runs good, a local guy over here is very fast with that setup.

I'm running a 2200kv on 4s and to be honest, it's a handfull.
I've had to tone everything down in the speedo to not overpower the car.
If I had to choose now, it would be either 1800kv or 1900kv for sure.

I can see that due to the lower rpm's which must be even smoother than the 1900kv on 4s which IMO smoother is faster.
1900kv on 4s = 32,424 rpm's
1400kv on 5s = 30,660 rpm's

I actually have been giving the 1400kv from Tekin a lot of thought because of this and the lower y wind (2Y) which equates to a lower amp draw and longer runtimes.

the new trend with tekin seems to be running 1700 on 4s. you are able to change timing and a bunch of other setting with the new Rx8 software.

How do u calculate your rpms?

1900 kv in 4S should be 1900 x 14,8v = 28120 rpm
1400 kv in 5S, 25 900 rpm

No?
