I run it in mine. its a bit overkill but its a lot of fun. I'm using a 17t pinion, goes about 45mph, has standing backflip power, and it still runs cool.

Over kill? I may have read your set up but for got in all the pages... what's you set up?
I tried one in mine and it seemed like it needed something different.. not overkill. I was running stock pins on 15T on a track with other SC. I have other tires coming this week.. Hoping that helps because so far i was not impressed like i was with the SCT in my Rustler.

What may be making a big difference is that I have 2.2" rim Badlands on mine. Overall tire height is like 4.5" so I'm sure that changes things. Otherwise just running it with the 17t pinion, stock spur, 2s lipo. I have some bashing videos of it from this past spring that I still haven't uploaded, been too lazy to edit, but I will try to get some footage up soon so you can see.

I picked up Blitz Tire/wheels last night. That did make a difference on how it ran. Temps are not going over 100 on either motor or esc.. (fan on esc)

I think for the track i'll find some good 2.2 also.... next thing to tackle is the shocks and bend my front chassis back LOL...

I recently got a used RCM kit and swapped my parts from my crt over. Runs great, but will update the motor as soon as I have more time.

What C rating is your Lipo?

I ask becasue my setup seems to run alittle warm, especially on the ESC.
I have a GTB running a 4.5 550 Ballastic with a stock spur (46t) and a 15 tooth pinion. My lipo is a Reedy Pro 7.4v 2 cell, but its c rating is only 25.

Would a higher Lipo c rating lower my ESC temps? I get 110 on the motor and 130ish on the ESC. I think the ESC is having to work really hard to get the correct amount of voltage to flow from such a low C rating battery?

Opinions?

Well I rekindled my desire to convert my SCRT10 to something like a 10th or 8th scale buggy. I think that converting to 8th scale light is more cost effective at this time so we'll see what that will become. Has anyone done this conversion?

I may just buy one of the CRT.5 Pro kits off Nitrohouse just to have the spare parts and Nitro stuff. I could get to an 8th Scale Nitro light.

+1 on the CRT pro kit. $79 buys a LOT of parts. I am giddy with all the parts I got with mine, enough to rebuild my used SCRT to excellent standards.

Default crt.5 e-conversion

I have decided to convert my CRT.5 to brushless using SCRT10 parts but would like a little advice. Been looking at the Castle MMP and their 3800Kv motor with 5mm shaft. Will this be a good setup using 2.2 badlands tire? I am seeking speeds around 35-40mph but I don’t know much about lipo packs so can this be achieved with a 2s or is a 3s pack needed?
Anyone offer a 3S battery tray? (I have the .5" extended chassis)
Feel free to recommend batteries and pinion gear sizes to make it happen
Thanks
