Default How long before you started driving a buggy?

I have been racing over a year now with a T4 and SC110. I have been thinking of getting into buggy racing. It seems like a very challenging car to race. I was wondering if you guys jumped right into buggy or started with something else first? If you did start with something else how long did it take to get into buggies?

I've been at this for ten years now and other than some time in an 1/8th scale I still don't want to get into buggies

2wd drive buggy is the hardest class to drive.

I have heard if you can drive 2wd Buggy then you can drive anything. I guess that is why it interest me.

I started with the 2wd buggy, but it took some time for me to get good at it. I found the truck easier to drive, and then worked on my skills with the buggy.

I started racing 2wd buggy. I ran it for 3 in half years before running anything else.

I was just a kid driving around xl5 rustlers sportmaxx's and minis. Then I tracked opened up near a friends grandparents house and we went there. My friend got and early birthday present which was a b4. After that I soon followed. I can say that I absolutely love driving my b4. I ace stock class and it's tricky enough for me but I can say it's gotten me a crap load better at everything. I never plan on selling my buggy. I absolutely love it! I can wait till I'm running a 13.5 instead of my 17"5

But I've only thought of either getting a 4wd buggy (b44) or going into 1/8th buggies. That'll happen when my pockets are a little deeper

I started in st truck 20 years ago and went to buggy 6 mos after and then into 1/10 on road..If you feel like going buggy don't hesitate it will teach you a lot,
then you should try on road 1/12 scale. Then the buggy will feel like a Cadillac

I started racing in the spring of 09 and didn't race that summer due to losing my job but started again in the fall doing indoor with an sc10 come February 2010 I bought an original rb5 and I struggled with it the rest of the indoor and most of the outdoor season with setups and bad luck. Then one day everything just clicked and now I don't practice with anything but my rb5 because I love the thing so much. I can jump from car to car no problem and my driving has only gotten better since.

I had never run a 1/10 scale buggy up until about 2 months ago. I was told by a few people that if you can drive one of these you can drive anything. So i picked up a b4.1. It was a little difficult at first..... coming from 4wd short course and 1/8 buggy, but once i got used to it and changed a few things i really like it. Seems like its really helped with my throttle control. It does take some getting used too with the short wheel base and narrow track width. I haven't run my ft sc10 yet since getting this buggy, but i can't waitto see the improvement.

Well, my first year racing I ran Mod short course, and got an idea of what racing was like, became close with some guys at all the tracks and had a good time. This past year, I was originally going to run 4x4 Short course, however, changed my mind and ran 1/8 Electric buggy. This was my first year in the class, and I had some good finishes, and made the A-mains at some pretty big races. I enjoyed this class way more than short course, simply because it really does bring out the "true racer" in you. I cared about setup, my car, and how to approach certain conditions much more. I improved throughout the season, and I am looking forward to this approaching outdoor season greatly. I will be running 1/8 electric truggy and 1/8 electric buggy. So, to answer your original question, I ran about 1 year before the whole 8th scale thing took me in.

Edit: Just realized you were talking about 10th scale buggies....my bad
