Default SC10 Rear End issues......Help?

Here is my problem, Im having a wierd issue with the Transmission/diff/ of my FT SC10. Here's what's going on.

Without a pinion, or motor in....everything spins quietly, smoothly.

With motor and pinion, things get weird.

Turning both wheels forward or reverse by hand slowly....clicking noise,

Holding one wheel, turning slowly by hand......normal,

Same thing under power, slow roll under power.....clicking noise

At a mild speed....no noise

I took the differential out, and rechecked it....It spun fine, and quietly.....transmission the same......smooth and quiet

So, the slipper? is that my problem?

I checked my son's RTR and the Bolt/nut on the slipper is completely different. Its tightened down WAY farther than what ive got. I havent tried messing with the slipper nut yet.

Anyone have anything like this happen....I need some online diagnosis, you have done wonders before.....HELP

are your transmission screws going into the motor plate too tight? if so it can cause friction in the transmission and possibly bind stuff up. and the reasoning for your sons slipper being different is because the FT SC10 has the v2 pads and spring

Are you running the gear diff? Check this out, it might be what you are experiencing and an easy, free fix.

I had a issue with the rtr I bought last year was the the one transmission screw was longer hitting the slipper hub. My other sc10 makes noise in the gear diff after two years of hard racing. Just getting wore out.

K, so I bit the bullet and tore into it. The only thing I noticed was that the differential spring seemed to show some unusual wear. Backed off that nut a little more than the 1/8th turn reccomended. Put everything back together and it still clicks.....sounds terrible. So in the process of putting everything back together, stripped out the threads on the refurbished motor that Novak sent back to me.....Arrrgh. Rotated the motor to new threads.....then was having a hard time finding the sweet spot on the pinion/spur....was making a weird noise (almost a squeak)....after fiddling, ended up wiping out the spur gear.....Im really tired of this.

I think its your motor. Mine does it to. novak ballistic. nothings wrong. the motor has notches (maybe the sensor?) and when it clicks into the notch it hits spur gear/pinion mesh.

I think your on the right track...this is what I think it is. Its the only thing Mechanically that I can think of. As slow speeds at the motor turns. It jumps from coil to coil. Its a magnet basically. SO, as you get in between turns, it quickly jumps to the next one. This quick jump to the next coil, causes a clicking noise.

Thats all I got.

I had the same problem with my ft sc10. One of the problems was the screw that go into the motor plate were to tight. What rear hubs are you running? The reason I ask is I run the racers edge hubs and found I didn't have the axle and hubs spaced right which also caused a clicking noise.
