I would like to know what the marks represent as well. I am guessing about 4* for each line. I have to advance my D3 17.5 three lines to get the speed back where my old motor was. Nothing was changed but the motor. It does run cooler. I bumped up the timing in the CC Mamba Pro to 40* also. Right now my temps are in the 150* range after the ten minute mains. Running a HPI Blitz ESE with a gear ratio of 9.38.

the lines are in MM to the negative and positive. I run 2-3 mm positive and it really awakens the beast

Anyone running a 17.5 in a rt5 or rb5? How cool is it coming off the track? Also I'm considering getting a10.5 or an 7.5/8.5 to race occasionally and occasionally play with on the dirt track( I race on the carpet and stay clean) do these motors stay clean with the vent holes?
Thanks for the input ahead of time.

Epic has just released there Dirt Diaper filters (TEP1029) that slip over the can to keep the dirt out of the vent holes.

Ok... So I guess it was a problem, or could have been. Dr r would you be willing to sell one of your used motors?

It wasn't really a problem. I ran mine as is for a few races. I take my stuff completely apart after each race, including motor. There has been no more or less dust than a non vented can.

I am currently testing out the dirt diaper filters, and will report. My concern is temps, but I'm confident Epic knows what they're doing, and there will be no problems.

Ran the D3 11.5 in my SC10 for the first time last weekend at a new track with hardly any practice to figure out the right gearing or timing. It was fast, smooth, and never got over 130°. I've always run stock so I'll definitely have to spend some time working the settings out.

I'll be running the D3 17.5 for the first time this weekend in our SC Series race. I plan on starting with the same gearing and esc settings as my Redline 17.5 and going from there. Can't wait to see how this compares on my home track.

I'm loving my D3 model motor (use the Fantom Ion 3) in my ST if only I was a better driver
