Default SCT 3800

I think it will be okay for Indoor and small tracks. Most of guys run 550 can for outdoor tracks.

Default The Castle 3800kv motor is perfect for the Jammin

Just replaced my Novak 550 4.5 with the Castle Sidewinder SCT combo. The Castle 3800 is an awesome performer in the Jammin. Performance is on par with my Novak 550 4.5 and gets longer run time with the same gearing. Don't hesitate, its a bargain compared to other systems on the market. I am completely happy with mine. Will get another to run in my Losi Ten Te truggy to back up my Tekin RX8 and SC4X 4.5.

That's great since I already picked one up for $99.00 at my lhs. It seems like such a steal since the havok 4.5 is $259.00.

Yup.... its a real steal. Very good deal. Ive never had mine get over 110 in my Hyper 10TT. This is just an example of new technology (Castle 4 Pole 3800) vs old (Novak 550)

I was wanting to build a budget friendly truck that should perform just as well as the other more expensive rigs I race against. It seems like everyone has the best of everything and are running mamba monster 2650 kv combos and 160.00 servos and just crazy stuff. So trying to keep it simple I ordered a jammin rtr for $279.00 and put the $99.00 castle sidewinder sct in it and a traxxas stock blue servo for $40.00 in for steering and since it came with a 2.4 radio in the rtr kit I'm just short of $420.00 total plus batteries.which is pretty good.

I'm running the 3800kv/MMP, in my Jammins. I'm using it my SCRT and my CRT.5. I'm using a 15t pinion in the SCRT. Plenty of power for the small indoor track I race at.

My truck is surely budget minded.

1. Used truck and MMP...$160
2. Castle 3800 and sidewinder... $100.. Sold sidewinder on ebay for $60
3. Traxxas 2.4 tx and rx... Free from my old Slash 4x4
4. Traxxas 2075 servo... $20..
5. Turnigy 5000mah 30-40c 2s lipos... $25ea.

The traxxas servo is OK. I did however find a cheaper metal gear servo that holds up better to the abuse of racing. EXI D226f from HObbypartz.com for $25 or so...

I race against guys w/ ballistic 550's and hi-dollar esc's and servos. I don't think the gear makes a whole lot of difference. Not crashing and not being marshalled is normally the deciding factor.

SHoot, There's a kid w/ a stockish Slash 4x4, still running the slipper, that gets up near the top almost every week...
