Exclamation Im looking at getting an SC10 used with a shot gearbox help please

Supposedly the car wont accelerate fast but will slowly, the guy im buying it off has only been into rc cars for 2months and knows pretty much nothing

Im trying to figure out what exactly is wrong with the car, to me it seems like the slipper clutch is slipping too much not exactly sure,it doesn't make any rough noises so the gears aren't stripped, the wheels barely spin at full throttle

Thanks

Hi when it accelarates does it make a high pitched whine. If so that is the slipper to loose. Just pull the trans out and see how the bearings are too. How is the status of the diff.

first thing i would check on an sc10 that wont accelerate is a stripped rear wheel or broken drive pin which will also usually result into a stripped wheel

If it's a great deal, get it. Anythingthing can be fixed.
If it's only 20-50 off retail, don't waste your money and just get a new one.
