ROAR is always a day late and a dollar short. 99% of racers probably don't have to follow ROAR exactly. ROAR will come around when they see that everyone is using something outside of their myopic rule book. Most of us club guys just want stuff that works and could careless about ROAR's rules. Dare I bet most of the sales come from us club guys.

Not saying ROAR is bad, but seems like their rules hold back advancement sometimes.

We are finishing up our new motor for 1:8 scale. It is 4 pole, 12 slot, sensored. We have not yet prepared our info sheet, but here is a Sneak Peek photo:

Sneak Peek of new Novak 1/8 Brushless Motor

This will be completely user-rebuildable like our current Ballistics.

Think I may have just found my next 1/8 motor. Doing an on-road conversion of my Jammin buggy and a low kv Ballistic 550 or Novak 1/8 motor are both very tempting. Glad to see you guys coming out with a 1/8 4-pole!

P.S. I clicked the link for the Ballistic 550 Build-A-Ballistic program and it seems to be a bad link. "Shopatron: We apologize, but the page you requested could not be found."

Novak: Are there any plans for a 12.5mm and 13mm tuning rotor for the 550's?

Our 540 and 550 motors are not 4 pole; our upcoming 1:8 motor will be 4 pole. (photo linked above)

We have never submitted our 550 size motors for ROAR 1:8 approval.
