I am still looking for an esc for a short course truck? What esc's are roar legal? Are the Rx8's and spx 8's?

I have been looking at the new mamba system also. Anyone used it yet?

You could check the ROAR website. However, I think they only list those speed controls that do not have dynamic timing, like boost and turbo. So if your local track doesn't care about timing then you can choose from any on the market. If they require 0 timing (no dynamic timing I believe) then you should choose from the list.

Is your track running a ROAR sportsman stock SCT class, or are you running modified SCT? If you are running mod, any ESC would be legal.

Roar so far has not spec'd an esc for short course. They likely will not for 2011.

In its history, the only escs speced by ROAR have been the non-timing controllers "approved" for its Sportsman Division.

so i have talked to a couple of guys in my area and they say the tekin rs is doing great in short course........hmmmmmm is it because they might be runnig higher turn motors?

for 2wd short course, tekin RS, you can run LESS motor and get the boost/turbo power

for 4wd short course you really want an rx8


either way, no esc at the top level has been beating Tekin......

I don't even see them winning at my local races, in 17.5 it is all tekin

not saying novak won't be as good but it is not proven yet, and I have a team driver at my track....I love novak stuff and the info the esc gives you is sweet, rpm temp etc
