nice conversion fellas!!!! I would like to see someone runnin the tekin sc4x4 motors in one of these though. 4.5 on 2 or 3s would rock! 6.5 would be your best bet im guessin though on 3s with the weights your almost talkin the same as a jammin scrt10 fully dressed.

You have to use the stock 810 body. amain and horizon sell unpainted ones without the nitro cutouts. If you have the Elite conversion extended chassis, I think the ve8 bodies from other mfg's will work.

With that larger 6s 2650 pack it is right at 6lbs 9oz. The car feels nice and compact. I have a feeling it is going to drive similar to a 4wd 1/10.
SC4x motor will put you down to 6lbs or pretty damn near since a 1400kv t8 weighs 330g-340g and a sc4x weighs in at 23xg. So almost 100g right there. Drilling out the battery box will help. Maybe getting rid of the stock losi rx box will rid a few g.

Nice to see another ERC Ten X conversion posted. Drove my ERC converted Ten-Te last Saturday, the ERC conversion is awesome.

How much run time are you getting on 2s?

Have not checked the run time. Just had a blast driving it on its first day out. It's about typical run time for a 4.5 550 motor in a truck of it's weight. I have no complaints on the run time. Plenty to finish a race.

So... more or less than 10 minutes?

Nice setup. I didn't know lieu had a car like that.
I did the same thing with a Kyosho about a year ago and back then most people were getting on my case about durability and lack of performance while only a few appreciated it for what it was. My kyosho weighed in at 5.3lbs race weight. I ran a 3300kv Medias 3650 motor on 3s and it had plenty of power to keep up with the normal 1/8ths. I lacked some torque to make the really big jump at Rev but kept up otherwise. The only problem with the ultralightweight setup is it doesn't do well in the roughs. In an indoor track like OCRC or WCRC it does really well. I really liked my 5lb buggy but I ended up converting it to a SCT. Oh I ran a 1/10 ESC also. Everything was uberlight.

Well, I got the 810e out to the track today to test and tune. All I gotta is the car works like a dream. It handles somewhere in between a regular 8th scale and a 10th scale. It is very nimble and you can feel how much lighter it is on the track versus a regular 1/8 car. However, the car still had enough weight so it didn't get bounced around.

The car actually drove pretty well with the stock setup. The only real changes I made was replacing the stock grease in the diffs with some real diff oil. I used 5 - 5- 3 and it worked pretty well. I still need to fine tune it but my laps were as fast as they were with my 808.

I think this 810e will out turn any regular 1/8. It absolutely turned on a dime.

The run times were very long. I ran a practice session with a 6s 2650 pack that was 20+ minutes. It also ran very good on 5s. I was using the 1400kv T8. The motor had way too much torque but turning the EPA down tuned it up very well. I think I actually preferred the power band on 5s versus the 6s.

I used the stock chassis with the Elite Mount and battery box. Worked flawlessly. I don't think the Elite Chassis though is necessary if you want to run the buggy though. Beautiful piece of work, but I am not convinced the extra length is going to be beneficial.

The car held up well. I did break a rear arm and my buddy, JHautz broke a rear hub carrier. It was VERY cold on the track though. Probably in the 30s. Overall, the car did take some pretty hard hits with no issues.

Bottom line, I think the 810 could be a game changer for electric 1/8.

I realize this is an ultra lightweight 1/8 buggy thread, but what about the 810 with the full elite conversion running 7.5 turn 550 can motor on 3-cell lipo. Being that it would be under the 3200 gram 1/8 e-buggy rule, then you could add the weight down low on the chassis to bring it up to min requirements and would be roar legal to race in say the E-Buggy nationals coming latter this year in Nebraska? Just a thought

Good to finally get some track results. Thanks for posting edumakated!
Still curious about a 2s setup which would probably seal the deal for me.

I ran my 810 E conversion this weekend also. I really liked it. Actually a very stable platform but still felt nimble. Hard to describe, but it seemed to handle "light" and land jumps soft. I liked it alot. Still have more work to do on the setup but out of the gates a few simple setup changes had it running real consistent and predictable. I was running HV7.5 and 3s 4200mah Hyperion 35c pack and I got some real long run times. Much longer than I expected. 15+ minutes easy. I would seem the lighter weight made a much bigger impact on power usage than I would have expected, but that was in practice so I will have to see what really happens in actual race conditions. I doubt it will be quite that good. I'm thinking about trying 2s and the Castle 1410 motor next time I get to the track. Hoping for Thursday night practice.

It would be legal then, but.... If you add weight to bring it up to 3200grams then you will probably want to go back to a traditional motor and battery size. Might just make sense to run a traditional 1/8 size motor and battery. You would still be under the 3200gram limit with this buggy and would still need to add weight, just less of it.

Not sure about the elite chassis working out so well for the 1/8 buggy application. Edumakated put it on his buggy but it made it longer than legal limit. Almost a half inch to long. He wound up going back to the stock chassis. I think the elite chassis is more targeted toward the SC crowd.

Thanks for posting too jhautz and I'm looking forward to the results for the 1410 on 2s as well.
And thanks for clearing up the length issue as I couldn't get an answer when I asked which is what's been holding me back from getting the conversion.

Thanks for the write-up JHautz. My Ten-T roller should be here early this week. I'm trying to keep it narrow for indoor use so I'm going to mill down the 810 hubs to fit on the Ten-T stubs. I'm also waiting on the Tekin SC4X 7.5 to hit the streets for a light 3S system. Still haven't decided between the RX8 and the RS Pro.
