Default After a good 1/8th buggy, Any ideas

I am looking to start rallycross. I want a cheap car to get involved mostly as a thrasher for my local fields etc but capable if i choose to race it. My LHS has got the GS Storms and the Hot Bodies lightning 2 RR. Are either of these ok or am i better trying to find a Hyper Pro or Mugen on ebay?

I do like the look of the hot bodies. What is the main difference between the RR kit and the pro apart from the obvious engine, transmitter etc. Any major difference between the actual kit?

What do people think of the Kyosho 7.5 Kanai? Seems to be pretty good and aparently is upgradable to the latest spec?
Regards, john

I don't have much experience with buggies but I also know that the Hyper 7 PBS is good. I am not sure about any others.

Personally I would stay as FAR away from Ofna as possible unless it's a Hyper 7.Even then I like others.
GS storms nice but their composite wears too fast.
The HotBodies car is a GREAT purchase.
What brands does your hobby shops support PART WISE?

With any car you buy you want to make sure what your lhs has a lot of replacement parts.

I got to see the new hot bodies run at the track, it looked pretty sound.

I will say this though the Mugen seems to be the way to go. Very popular vehicle and its tough as nails, plus it handles.

I own the HB RTR1 with an RB S5 engine. Really durable car, handles well and the stock setup works great with the RB engine. I just modded my 2 shoe to work like the HPI racing clutch. Much more snappier acceleration.

Default Buggy

A very good and reliable, inexpensive and competitive 1/8 scale off-road bugyy would be the Sportwerks "Mayhem. It comes assembled with or without radio gear. Very reasonably priced also.
