Thats basically what I'm planning on doing to my merv - as soon as the ebay chop shops start selling just shells an stripped chassis. Need springs, the front bmpr, body posts F&R, and a shell.

I'll use some other wheels - the stockers are not too great from what I'm reading.

EDIT

After a quick spin. There will be no traction rolling issues. Though I think I will stiffen up the suspension quite a bit
have a link to the tires you're running? a buddy brought his new rally over yesterday and with two NiMh in series we might as well have been driving on an ice rink with the stock tires

Put some Touring tires on it because drifting really isnt my thing

Your rally looks sick with the regular touring car tires & rims!

Thankfully they listened we didn't want the horizontal shocks on the 4x4 Slash but they need to get rid of them on the minis now too and come out with something NEW.
I totally agree...the revo platform is cool but getting old. This is how traxxas has made their millions...by using a platform over and over again. They did the same thing with the bandit/stampede...etc...

Personally I wish they would come out with an electric 1/8 buggy...if it's not the revo platform I think it would be very innovative.

Yea it jumps just like the HPI rally car did. I just wasn't used to it, so I kept letting off the throttle in mid air, causing the many nosedives you see. That was in total stock form. Now I raised the suspension by removing the limiters, added mini revo springs, some bling to remove slop, and put mini slash tires on it. They do much better in the dirt than the stockers do. Fun little car

The mini summit looks like fun. Would be a great little bash and trail truck. Although I don't even have time to sleep let alone play with another RC car. Sorry Traxxas, my money is staying in my pocket this time.
