lrp capacitor question

lrp capacitor question
Just bought a used lrp, went to install and zip tie the capacitor onto my battery leads, like all my other esc's, and 1 wire came off capacitor. It ran fine for a while, then just began shutting down. Wouldnt do it at first, but after a few min. of running, esc would shut down everything, no steering or motor. Is it the capacitor that is shutting down everything?? If so, I have a spektrum capacitor, glitch buster, looks the same as lrp one, would i be able to just solder this one in to remedy the problem or do i need to get one from lrp? I am running lrp sphere comp. with 7.5 and 2s lipo's. Thanks for the help.

It cracks me up that it's a pitch in almost every post, but you got a good answer from Novak there.
I would look for what the LRP capacitor is rated and if the one you have matches, or is better, install it. Or you could get the one you've been linked to.

I'm tryin to figure out if someone has had similar problem, dont want to buy a capacitor if the esc is bunk to begin with. I have tried and cannot find specs or replacement capacitor from lrp...

Well darn, that's crappy.
Do you by chance have the specs for the one you have? When I looked at the Novak capacitors, they seemed to be rated by cell. If you got the one you currently have off another ESC, maybe check the cell capacity on that one?....see if it matches up with the LRP ESC. I have one and am pretty sure it's only 2S lipo and 4-7 cell nimh. Not positive, as I only use 2s lipo on it.

Just an FYI on the current receiver type plug-in capacitors:
Novak glitch buster receiver capacitor 5600uF = NOV5626
Spektrum Voltage Protector 4700uF = SPM1600
LRP BEC Stabilizing Capacitor 2700uF - LRP80135
