If you are placing an order from HobbyCity I would get this servo: http://hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=9983

I have one in my truggy and it's a beast. More than enough torque and speed.

Also, stay away from 50W chargers if you are going to be running 1/8 electric. They aren't up to the job of charging 4-6S packs at even 1C, let alone 2C or higher like newer packs can handle. I would recommend a charger from iCharger, and have also heard good things about Hyperion. Whatever you get, make sure it can handle 200W or more.

And actually it puts out

I think I may be way off on the 200oz/in thing. I've been up a long time
This is what I found on Tower's website:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUZ89&P=ML

I have a servo available so I figure why spend more money if it works~

The hitec 985mg is the absolute lowest I would go for steering on a 1/8 truggy.. 69.99

I'd spend a few bucks more though and grab one of those new Savox SC-1268MG High Torque Digital Servo (metal gear, coreless, BB, .11 sec/361 oz) under 100.00, you can't go wrong there.

Couldn't agree more with this. I have Hitec and Savox. I will be buying Savox from now on.

You need to send a pm to HLPRESSLEY and talk to him about getting a Savox servo. You won't find a better deal............

So... I'm debating between truggy and buggy.

Hotbodies D8 or D8T? Will be doing e-conversion. Please let me know! Thanks.

On a side note, is an HV servo necessary?

I have a Ve8 and love it and am converting my new D8t to electric this weekend. I have driven both and I would say that truggy suites my driving style better and is a little more forgiving but truggy costs a little more to run when you buy tires, etc.

All that said I think you will like both. Have you condsidered the Ve8? It is also made by Hot Bodies and is a purpose built electric 1/8 scale and is the best driving buggy that I have ever had. It has a very low price point as well.

The Ve8 is based off the D8, right? If that's the case, then...

Ve8 or D8Te?

Yes, the Ve8 is based on the D8 slightly. There share the front and rear of the cars and I think the diffs.

The Ve8 drives differently and will be probably be cheaper to buy a new kit than get a D8 and a conversion.

Yes. So I'm wondering, buggy or truggy...

Ve8 or D8Te?
