Default My RC8T Brushless Builds

I have been working on 2 RC8T FT kits for about a month and now they are finally done. One is my wife's and the other is mine. I have always wanted one so I picked up a roller from here and traded my slash 4x4 for a new kit. One came with the AE conversion kit already and I bought another conversion kit. I then saw a good deal on a Tekno kit so I went ahead and bought that. Both trucks are setup using Ryan Mayfields race setup with a minor tweak to my wife's. Since I used the Tekno kit I have an extra chassis and extra AE conversion kit minus the motor mount. I still have the Tekno motor mount.

My Kit- RC8T FT
-Tekno Conversion
-Hitech 7955TG steering servo
-MMM/2200 Flux/Blur from my Vorza
-Proline Bulldog body
-AE motor mount (did not want to use the Tekno one because you have to run a long shank pinion and I already have a bunch of standard size pinions. No need to buy more when I have a new AE conversion kit and I can use that motor mount from it. I will eventually get the Elite RC mount)
-Cut down the ESC mount for better LCG
-Modified battery tray to accommodate 2 3 cells side by side
-16/50 gearing on 4s and 5s
-Traxxas Rustler RX box mounted in front above steering link
-Drilled rear shock tower for the bulldog body
-DE skid plates

Here are the colors used on the body
-Main shell is pearl white backed with candy red backed with pink.
-Stripe detail is metallic blue backed with white.
-Window detail is fluorescent yellow backed with pink.
She picked out the colors for this as well. But she told me to make the body blue and the detail red. I accidently did it the other way around. Oh well, I think it still looks good. All painted with rattle cans.

That's about it now for my setup. I did just receive a new 1518 1800kv motor from Castle yesterday. You can't beat the prices on some of there motors right now. I will most likely use it to get a little more torque and run more efficiently and cooler. I ordered another one to go into my wife's truck. Here are some pics of my setup.

Default My Wife's RC8T FT

Wifeís Kit-RC8T FT
-AE conversion kit
-Hitech 5955TG steering servo
-MMM/2200 Castle Creations
-Proline Bulldog Body
-Modified battery/ESC tray to fit my larger lipos
-18/54 gearing on 4s and 5s
-Drilled rear shock tower for the bulldog body
-DE skid plates

Here are the colors used on the body
-Main shell is metallic green backed with white.
-Main flames is pearl white backed with black.
-Flame outline is fluorescent orange backed with white.
She picked the design and colors and stickers all herself. I just cut and painted it. I really like her's more than mine especially in the sun light. I think she did a great job with it. All painted with rattle cans.

Thatís about it with this one. I will eventually get more parts as time goes on. I would like to get some FT aluminum parts especially at the hubs. The carbon fiber shock towers that are on them now will work just fine. Also some front/rear chassis braces.
Here are some pics.

Comments are gladly welcomed and thanks for looking

Terry

Thanks fellas. Me and the wife had a chance yesterday to drive them. They are so freakin cool and easy to drive. My wife just loves the handling. It's kinda low for her case she likes to jump. Now I need to save some more cash and start upgrading.

Lookin good mang... I run all associated stuff rc8te rc8be, looking for sc10, got a t4..... The only things i can suggest is to use a traxxas mount for the mamba monster your going to have to drill a couple holes into esc mounting plate but this will save you hassle in the long run!!!

Keep up the good work

Default 1518 1800kv Mounted

Got my new 1518 1800kv motor mounted now. Geared from 16/50 to now 20/50 calculated for the same speed. I will try it out in the morning and see how she does. I should see a little more low end power as well as less heat. I am waiting for my other motor to come in this week and mount that in my wife's truck. Thanks for looking.

Terry

Man does it fly on a 5 cell. I took it up and down the road a couple times and the tires were ballooning like crazy. I think for racing this srtup would be good but for just messing around I think I need thicker fluid in the center diff. Anyone think 20,000wt is to much or should I go higher?
