Ok, so just a quick question. i have a losi 2.0E geared 15-45T tekin 2050kv with MMM ESC. I am able to get just over 20 minutes with this setup, and at the end of the 22 minutes, the motor is about 180F. Is this fine? If not, gear up 1 tooth, or down? Wiull be for a fairly large open track

Leave your gearing, 20 minutes and 180 is fine.

i was disappointed with my motor today, was racing and the entire back section of my motor came off. i thought it was just me but i had about 10 people tell me that they have had the same issue.

I think Tekin needs to rethink their design for the motor case, maybe something bigger where you can put a decent screw instead of those tini tiny things they call screws to hold the back on.

Motor has never been overheated, i have always checked it for loose screw and i even used lock tide.

Motor back plates don't come off often at all. If you maintain your motor from time time time this is easily prevented. I find it a good practice that if I'm changing the center diff oil for example, it's time to service the motor. A drop of blue loctite on each screw when going back together.

180f is fine all day long. 160 doesn't mean he's over geared at all.

I personally maintain my cars and go though them every 1 to 2 weeks and i check motors. If i had an old motor i would understand but it is less than 1 month old.

You may also say that i does not happen often but when i have 10+ local drivers come up to me and tell me that they have had the same issue then i am worried, specially since i have only had this problem with the new motor.

I'd like to see your motor, send me some pictures: [email protected]

Iv'e had that happen one time in all the years. It's kind of a fluke deal but you found out the same thing I did. Gotta check those dang screws once in a while. It is not just a twekin issue.
