Regarding Jim Myers... He doesn't own JConcepts, but he's still painting bodies.

Check out the Winning Edge Designs thread in the Paint section... You'll find him in there.

Great choice BTW... I use him for my paint needs as well. Tell him DavidR sent ya.

Also... Obviously I'm biased, but I recommend the Tekin speed control over the LRP, the LRP is a good choice also, very smooth and reliable, just not as easily updated as the Tekin.

I'd also strongly suggest that you check out the Hyperion chargers... They really are the cats meow in chargers for a pretty decent price point.

Welcome back to the hobby! It's a great time to jump back in with all the new technology out recently!

Thats it!!! hey give me a break, its been 8 years lol... I confused J-concepts with "winning edge designs" I should of known better since his screen name used to be wedjim lol.. Ok I'll take a look at the tekin speedo and compare it to the sxx version 2 and if i still can decide after that, well which ever is cheaper... thank you for making me feel welcome... I just hope to get good enough to start winning again haha

Which tekin does the factory driver suggest?? lol the RS or R1

LOL... After 8 years I'd have some problems remembering stuff too!

As for getting back to winning... I've taken breaks before, and honestly... I think breaks help. It almost seems that I remember the good technique and leave the bad behind somewhat instinctively. Kinda weird actually...

Its like riding a bike... LOL

HEY CORY..JUST A QUICK ONE FOR YA..YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK WITH STEVE...BUT HE CHANGED TO A 4.5 MOTOR FOR HIS DURANGO. HE TRYED THE 7.5 BUT HE SAID THAT IT WASN"T FAST ENUFF, PLUS HE HAD A TEKIN IN IT AND HE SAID THAT IT WAS GETTING TO HOT THAT'S WHY HE SWITCHED TO THE LRP SYSTEM THAT'S IN IT NOW...BUT I THINK THAT THE STUFF YOU CHOSE ARE ALL TOP OF THE LINE STUFF..NOW GET YUR A$$ ON THE TRACK............

Did you order the charger yet?

If not I would suggest looking into the iCharger line. Very accurate balancer and plenty of headroom wattage-wise. I have the 106B+ and have been very impressed with it.

Be aware the new speedos, including the SXX, have a lot of stock specific timing advance available. Be sure to set it up properly for a modified, which can't take nearly as much timing advance ramp-boost-turbo-supercharger-whatever fancy term is used.

I'm sure some of the LRP fans can provide more specific suggestions for that speedo-motor-car for a starting point.

Good luck and welcome back!

Perhaps one of these:

http://www.allerc.com/product_info.p...oducts_id=4632

In some ways lipo chargers are simpler than the delta peak detect type of old, and with brushless no motor breakin is needed, etc. Although all of these still have peak detect capability.

There are more powerful chargers available, but really not all that useful for 1/10 scale packs. The first couple go up to 1000Watts, if you have big enough power supplies and the batteries that need/can take it:
