Default Average Practice Track Time

I am new to this hobby and I practice on a track about 2 to 3 hours a week. Just out of curiousity what are some other average practice times? I realize everyone is different in every conceviable way(thank god) but again I was just curious. Thanks for any input.

I try to practice a couple of hours in the morning before sign-ups on race day. Sometimes we have open practice during the week and I'm there 2-3 hours usually.

I practice for about an hour at a time, any more and I feel burned out. I try not to overdo it on practicing at a race. We race one day races so too much practice leaves me burned out for the actual racing.

I usually get about 5 minutes of practice at a club race. If its a trophy race I will try to get there early enough to run a full pack before the qualifiers.

However much time I can get, between charging batteries, maintenance, and driving to the track.

I have no time to practice so I get to the track early on race day and run a pack in each car just like a lot of others. A lot of practice is great for you but not so hor for your equipment.

Especially with todays complex boosted ESCs, running your car for any longer than the amount of time a race would last can be a bad idea. I can't speak for everybody but all my cars/trucks are set up to run 5-7 minutes. Much more than that and they get too hot. That includes motors, lipos, and ESCs. In the rare case that I have time to practice, I go to the track with 3 or 4 cars and all my lipos....I have 10 or so. I alternate cars and charge used packs as I drive. If you could get an hour solid of track time in a week that would be phenominal. I spend 7 hours at the track on race days and generally get 30-40minute of track time which includes practice and racing.

Thank you for all the response. I read an interview one time where J. Tebo said when he first started racing he practiced from 8 to 10 hours a week and now days he said he probably puts double that time in now. It sounded unrealistic to me but I guess he gets all his equipment for free.

I have been in the hobby for 6 months. I work afternoons and can only practice on wekeends. On a Sat I will practice 4hrs w/breaks or grab another car to run while the other cools...and then race. If there is open practice on Sunday, I will go for another 4hrs and also test setups. Probably 4 total hours of driving unless I have to do some major repairs.
