Default HPI RS4 MT-releasing more power out of it

i have an HPI RS4 MT that uses a Tirnity P2K motor (i dont know how many turns) and its substantially slower than my T3 (i know 4wd). So, is there a way to release more power to make the truck (well car cos it has a baja bug body) go alittle faster?

The Trinity p2k is a stock motor, 27T. That motor usually provides plenty of torque. The 2wd and 4wd factor isnt that important for top speed, acutally 2wd trucks have less moving parts which means less friction. check if anything is binding and make sure everything turns smoothly. Also check that your gear mesh isnt too tight, which usually decreases speed. Other than that, the rest could be just the motor, battery, and esc combination. Moving to a lower turn motor for high speeds but make sure your ESC can handing that extra power. Hope this helps

i dont know why, but when i run it, after a minutem the engine suddenly dies and the ESC gets rather hot. does that mean that either i need to clean the motor, replace brushes (or a bad motor altogether) or does my ESC (LRP F-1) is bad?

I use to have a LRP F-1 PRO and it ran great. Did you check to see how much brush life is left? Sounds like you have a motor problem but I am far from being an expert on electric motors. Maybe someone else can help on that department. But first check out your motor. Spin the armature, check the brushes, etc to see if you can spot any problems.
