I was originally excited to go to this race, then I read we had to purchase spec tires from the organizer. Dont get me wrong I support LHS as much as I can but I bet 80% of the open entries have hookups to get tires, including myself. Between entries, travel and the unknown cost of tires I have to pass. Tires alone could easily be the most expensive part of the event, nevermind the entries are more $$$ than any other race (other than the worlds) I've ever seen, combine that with retail $$$ for tires... to bucku round eye!!!!

whats uppppp Duff?

Gold barcodes, they will last you months, you won't need but one set since you get no tire wear at the track

ive ran barcodes and subrubs and bk bars and i spend the day practicing and the tire shows no wear what so ever and that was when i was running 4wd mod!!trust me your tires will still be new when you leave after two days of racing.

I was thinking of the same thing.......shouldnt matter where they come from as long as they are the correct ones. Do like the ROAR Nats, bring unopened packages. But curious as to why there is a control tire for an OPEN class thats going to be primarily sponsored/partial sponsored drivers racing in. I'm looking at the list and I'm pretty sure that 90% of the guys listed are sponsored. With the cost of entries, you should get a free SET of tires

But yes, Barcodes and and as far as I know Suburbs last for several runs. I cant see needing more than one pair of fronts for 2wd, and MAYBE two pairs of rears for 2wd and two for 4wd, and maybe two pairs for 4wd fronts. Someone that runs there more often will be able to verify a little better. I know on my 1/8 scale, I get very little tire wear at WCRC.
