What I like about it is, it's a up-scaled DEX410 and NOT a nitro that has been converted to electric. No center diff that is offset to one side at some extreme angle. I would like to see a cam style of motor mount to make that aspect easier.

Exactly!

And...configured for saddle packs is a bonus, unless people already own a bunch of 4S packs. Electric 8th is here to stay and is slowly finding its place. Even though I really can't use my VE8 for racing, I'm hangin onto it. Awesome class!

I like the saddle layout over having one big brick of a pack.

I have to disagree... I hate saddle setups... it limits you to a 2s type setups... also, saddle setup takes way too much real-estate... I'll stick to what i have...

and this setup is not well balanced.. you weight difference from one side to the other will be the difference between a motor and a servo... that's a BIG weight difference...

It takes up real-estate since the packs aren't sitting on top of each other basically. I'll take the lower C of G anyday.

I like the 2S battery layout, I can share them with my 1/10 2wd and vise versa.

teeforb, I guess we can agree to disagree. There's pleny of cars on the market and I personally like the layout of this one over my 8ight-E.

Actually the balance would be about as good as you could get it. The only other way to get it more balanced side to side would be to stand up the steering servo and place the esc down on the chassis.

This is going to be a hot car, trust me. I got to see the prototype up close the Alabama Shootout this year and I was very impressed.

The balance would be perfect with the Tekin RX8.

I' ve been waiting for this car since i saw the prototype a couple of years ago and i just loved it. This one has some differences though, like the ESC position and lay-down batteries and servo.
It's quite similar to my 808-e, which i made with that prototype in mind.

I read some comments about saddle layouts being heavier...There might be a little difference, but for example my 808 with this layout is only 6.69lb's ready to go, which is lighter than most of the 1/8th electric buggies out there. Chosing the right motor/esc/batteries is more important than the layout.
DNX408 is claimed to be one of the lightest buggies, so this "E" version could be veeeeery light.

Would it be possible to run 2 5-cell lipos with low mah ratings in parallel? I like my Mugen MBX-6/Tekno V3 setup with a 5-cell, 5000mah battery and Tekin 1550kv Truggy motor because it runs cool with more than enough power (tuned down with Tekins RX8). The battery, motor and controller layout do look just like the Caster Fusion EX 1.5R. I wonder if this new buggy will accomodate the longer truggy motors, and if the shafts will need to be cut to make clearence for the batteries, (like the Caster).

I wish all these new 1/8 electric buggies were setup with something that would slip, so that everything is not so direct; such as the Tekno Traktion Clutch or the RC Monster Slipperential. This being another reason that I like my Tekno setup.
