I like the 4.5t with the 14mm tuning rotor. Brings the KV down to about 4000, so go up a tooth or two on the pinion and enjoy the crazy torque. Only downside is the added drag brake effect due to the stronger magnets, but it's manageable, IMO.

I run a 4.5 in my hyper 10sc. Stupid fast. On pavement it can pull a 10 foot wheelie with 7k weight center diff oil. Enough power to spin all the way down the straight at the local club, but I can also dial that back a bit with the endbell timing. I think it's perfect.

i ran the 5.5 that is until it seized a front bearing.

pre ordered a Tekin 5.5 the next day.

I run the 5.5 through an rx8, and timing it to about 20-25 and it pulls 4.5s down the straight and i still have room to gear up on bigger tracks.

You could have emailed us your serial number and date of purchase and requested a replacement bearing, if still under warranty, we would have just mailed you one. The Ballistics are completely rebuildable and parts are always available; makes the motors simple to repair. The bearings in BL motors must be inspected and cleaned occasionally; we even made a video:

i will email you right now..
i love the way the novak ran! and i only raced it 3 times and 4 practice days.

i shoot you an email i want to get this truck back on the track it will be another month or so before i get my tekin (WAY late pre order)

Anyways..

about the balistic parts.. could i replace the rear end bell on my 5.5 to the balistic one? that way i can run a regular sensor cable?

Picking up these parts to do it
Back end bell

Bearing cap

Timing/sensor port

and the Insulator pack

I am assuming that your 550 was the older HV version. There are some parts that are the same between our old HV 550s and our new Ballistic 550s, but the back end bell isn't one of them. See the diagram at the link. If you have questions, you can PM me, too.
