but the hyper mini ste was a brushless crt.5...i thought hobau, hong nor, hyper, ofna and jammin were all the same thing (like hpi and hotbodies...and how they made the hpi vorza which is an electric hotbodies d8)

im confused about how they both use most of the same parts...i know the hyper ste, the scrt-10 and the crt.5 share most parts...cant wait to find someone that used this chassis on a crt.5 so i can make a chassis order...from the pics this chassis looks a tiny bit longer than the crt.5 extended chassis

/\/\/\thats a sweet looking track btw

i run at ocrc here in huntington beach. not sure the size though. my temps without my fan run about 140-150 depending on how agressive i am with it. with my fan on it runs at 125-130. i run my sxx with the profile 10 which i need to bring it down 2 or 3 steps and see how it does. i can definatly hold with the big boys on the track

Hey guys I just wanted to let everyone know what to get for the steering mod I did which works great! I was the yellow OfnaTT in the video at Mikes Hobby Shop. All you need to buy are;
1. Any 1" turnbuckle (Lunsford or Associated and since they come in a pair, you can split the cost with a buddy since you each only need one turnbuckle )
2. Lunsford LONG ballstuds
3. Long RPM ballcups
4. Two washers roughly 5mm (I used my old limiters that came with my Losi shock rebuild cartriges. It comes with two in a pack, use the BIGGER one)

Now for the steps installing the rack;
1. Take out the crappy silver "rack"
2. Put one washer under each ballstud and screw it in from the bottom of the steering posts, NOT THE TOP (the new rack will be under the front coupling instead of the top like the old one)
3. Screw your RPM ballcups on turnbuckle till it bottoms out. Yes screw all the way in till it stops. Pop the ballcups on the ballstuds under the front coupling. (The easiest way to do it for me was pop on one side first, than slide the turnbuckle under the coupling and pop on the other)
4. Make sure you have no subtrim in your steering and recenter your servo. After recentering your servo adjust your toe in/out accordingly to your preference, than adjust your enpoints on your radio to limit or add travel. Drive it and you should notice quite a difference!

I hope I didnt make this sound to difficult to understand! But if ya got any questions feel free to ask. Thanks guys,
Ray
Can you post pics of your mod so we can get a good visual of what is needed and how it is mounted?

Thanks

couple questions:

1. has anyone run these with short course tires and made it more of a buggy? would this hang with 1/8 scale buggies? was looking at the kyosho dbx ve, but this looks like it might be a better choice.

2. i am confused on the pinions... are they different than 48p? if so, and i purchase one, would i need to get a pinion with it, or does the kit come with one?

3. any gearing advice for a sidewinder 4600kv, running sct tires? track is med size, somewhere btw 1/10 and 1/8 scale... we run both.

thanks guys!

1. i dont think anyone has put sc tires on it yet but i could be mistaken. And yes this will keep up with some 8th scale buggies if the right motor is put in and geared right but some 8th scales are insanely fast. The dbx is more of a beginner car than a race car. i had one and it would take alot of tuning to get it right for a track.

2. these are 32p mod 1 pinions. it does come with a 13t pinion with the kit but depending on motor and track you will have to get other pinions

3, no idea on the gearing for the sidewinder combo. im running a 11t pinion with a 6.5 motor on a med to large track

I know once these stupid tires it comes with are wore out I'm throwing 17mm hexes on and some 1/8 buggy wheels. That way it will handle well and truly like a mini truggy.
