Default V2 verses ZERO

Since the release of the ZERO, we have may confused racers trying to decide between the two wheel balancers.

If you look at the pic posted, you will see that the V2 is so much larger than the ZERO. The V2 was intended for the heavier off road wheels up to 1/8 truggy wheels. Since we developed the V2 with micro-bearings, it is sensitive enough for 1/10 touring car wheels. But.... we wanted to design a balancer that would be the most sensitive balancer in the world, the ZERO.

Unfortunately if you used a 1/10 off road wheel, the extra weight could damage the knife-edge.

Default 4PL 4PLS drop down pilot

Since the the 4PLS is now available and the 4PL has been discontinued, we will be getting a 4PLS for the prototyping and production of the drop down.

For 4PL owners that will be getting the drop, please look at the pics and let us know if you see any physical differences in the shell design of the 4PLS compared to your 4PL.

We spoke with a techie at Towerhobbies who said they are the same but I would rather trust a 4PL owner over a phone teckie.

Looks pretty identical to me in the important areas, I would say the main casing is the same with only small differences in the top panel buttons. I will double check when I get home with the actual unit.

That would be good news. From looking at the pics between the two, the buttons would be the changes to indicated the telemetry addition.

We would rather do all the development on the 4PLS onward.

When Futaba releases a "Super" model, its usually a slight change in plastic color, steering wheel style, and menu button placement. The older dropdown should fit.

Checked the pic against my 4PL and it is identical, the same main moulding. Only differences are printing and the panel/buttongs

Got a 4PLS on order since that should be the radio we should to develop the drop down for. Most stores, the 4PL are sold out and no more can be ordered.

Should have it by next week so we can start the prototyping.

Can you sart relaying this information to this http://www.rctech.net/forum/radio-el...n-grid-rc.html thread as well? Don't know why you decided to post all this new information on a thread not specific to it. This thread IS for your company's products, but wouldn't it make more sense to post on the 4pl drop-down thread? If it bothers you the thread author isn't you, contact the mods and have them change the author from me to your company. It's been done several times before and isn't uncommon. This way you can post all the information you want on the first page. I also don't understand why some people on the "pre-order list" didn't receive an e-mail and others did. Seems odd to me that the person that came up with the idea didn't get a notification. It's like you guys just abandoned that thread with people still asking questions on it.

Default 4PL 4PLS drop down update

We got our 4PLS radio last week and it kept on getting a odd lock up so ordered another receiver to see if that would solve the problem, but it didn't.

It seems that the radio was defective and sent back for replacement. We hope to get a replacement next week.

As for a timeline. We expect a week to make the prototype so we can post it. Testing and revisions within a week or two then, at least a week for production plus anodizing.

Regards,
Ron

Default 4PLS drop down update

Got good news for you all.

We finally got another replacement 4PLS last week and have been working on the prototype drop down.

What we are working on now is a way to eliminate the need for anyone with a 4PL and 4PLS with warranty the need to open up their radios and do any drilling.

This way, you won't lose your warranty.

We will keep posted.
