Thanks for keeping this cost effective and spec.
I'll keep my deposit down but i will now have to hold off till i see if this even takes off. I am apprehensive of buying 7 cell nimh packs. It's a waste to me if this doesn't take off like gas truck.....electric truck....4wd...... Hmmm....... see the trend. People get bored of the same thing.

Let's run the slash's first with whatever batteries and see how it goes. before i gotta shell out 100 for some packs. I gotta get a new lipo for my 2wd as it is.

4wd is dead now huh news to me I know that when things get light in summer people run just one class. But all winter long we had a solid class. With 16 pre order slashes sounds pretty healthy to me. I read some of your threads about turnouts. At a club race what do you think would be a good turn out 150 guys. Over the winter we avearged 8 heats some times getting 10. There were only 12 at the Regionals. Besides if some guys stop complaining and maybe tried to get some new guys into it we could get some bigger turnouts. The slash class is just as much for you guys as it is for new guys or even more so. they can start racing with everybody on a level playing field from the start. I remember guys saying man when I get brushless I'm going to make the main and stuff. Even though it's really not an on track advantage it's really about limiting work for ourselves. Let try spec and see what happens!!!!!!!!

How much $$$$ for all those custom painted bodies from Dean? What proformance gain did you get from that investment?

Rob, I know I thought lipo was the way to go when you first raised the question with the Slash, but I think the lack of a LVC in the ESC means the only responsible way to set the class up for racing is with Nimh. I'll practice with lipos myself because I am very comfortable that I can manage the voltage level myself, but to put an inexperienced person into lipo without the safety of the cutoff is just not responsible. That factor trumps any other concerns...and this is coming from a guy who hates the thought of having to run nimh again!

Heard you looked pretty sporty in 4wd last Saturday...
