Here is a link to the RCE Winter Showdown coming up on Feb 22-24. I also included the information about the Endurance race that a few LIR guys had requested.
Thanks,
Todd

The 125 lap endurance race at the Winter Showdown will be a relay race with teams made up by qualifying positions from the heat races. We will have either teams of 3 or 4 drivers with each team being made up with drivers from all levels being on each team. The racers will be divided into groups based on time, top qualifier is put with the lowest qualifier, second qualifier is with the second lowest and so on. This way the teams are most fair, there is not one loaded team and each team has a range of abilities.
To keep it even, the top driver from each team would not be allowed to run more than 40% of the laps (40 laps), so a team can't just send out a ringer. Also, no driver may run more than 25 laps in one "turn", this way there is no advantage for Li-po and brushless. No team can have more than 50% of the drivers running 4wd (if there are 4 drivers per team then each team can have 2 4wd's, if there are teams of 3 then only 1 4wd per team)
It is a lot of fun being part of a team working together to most efficiently get the 125 laps done. There is strategy involved. You may want to send out your fastest team driver first to build up a lead, or you might want to hold him until the end to finish off the race. The team aspect of the enduro race is great because faster drivers work with the lower main drivers to help make their teammate faster.
This is a FREE, optional (you don't have to participate, but you'll want to) bonus race being held after the mains on Saturday. Even though Saturdays classes are Limited 2wd, 4wd Mod, and 1/18th Scale all vehicles are eligible. Drivers will be seated by their time in the class they participate in. You can run a Mod truck in the enduro even though you wouldn't have raced it that day. If you can't race Saturday but are racing Sunday you can still race in the Enduro, you will be randomly placed on a team by best educated guess.
If you haven't been part of an endurance race at RCE your in for a great time. Teamwork, race strategy, and the chance to help each other get better make these races a lot of fun.
Thanks,
Todd
