Default KERSHAW DESIGNS BRUSHLESS MOTORS

I recently bought a decent priced brushless motor for my 3905 Maxx. I was running XErun 80A esc with a Hobbywing EZrun 3665 2300kv motor and all was well. I just wanted a "little" more. So I picked up a KD Revolver XL7 motor for it. It was very well priced at $59.99! I decieded on the 3674 2370kv XL7. And what I got was a MONSTER with SO much more than I bargened for!!! This thing is insane. I paired it with the XErun 80A esc and 2 x 2s lipo and it is more than what I needed! O yea! It easily runs head 2 head with my E Revo with the Mamba 2200 set up on 4s geared 22/86. I have it geared 18/68 and its extremly smooth. Great low-end torque and good top-end speeds. My E Maxx is quite heavy and large with a set of PL Big Joes. I decieded to punch it the truck did a complete back flip and back to its wheels. Virtually no cogging at all, after a 1/2 hr bashing session with random speed runs up and down the street on a warm afternoon(86 degress) the motors temp maxed out in the 130's. Its heavy and feels solid. Theres no play in the shaft and comes with bullets installed and a set of females for your esc. Im writing this review now after days and many more bashing sessions. Its still running cool and strong. I plan on buying these for more apps in the future. Dan has this same set up as a combo for under $150 "I think". But for that price you cannot go wrong. So save some hard earned cash and check out the site. Lots of cool stuff. Up-grade kits, esc's, motors, etc.. And its always nice buying from the US. And from what I read his Customer support is great and he stands behind his products. Even if it isnt KD stuff(Castle,XErun). Just passing on my 2 cents.

Looks like they offer an 1860kv motor as well, that should be the ticket for a 1/8 buggy. Lots of guys are running 1700kv on 4s now with plenty of power.

How is the efficiency?

Edit: He has a power output table but for some reason only offers outputs @ 6s on most of the 4s appropriate motors.

Actually, Hobbypartz has never had them in stock. Or at least the last three or four months that Ive been watching for them to be replaced. From what Ive read, Hobbywing has discontinued that series of motors. HobbyPartz still has the 3665 that I mentioned in stock. Thats it. But its a great motor. Decent compared to the only 1/8s that Ive owned. Castle/Nue, Ezrun, AMMO 3656 1900kv, MRC ZD racing in my buggy. He claims on his site "there not rebadged Figeo motors" . As far as efficency.... Im kinda a newbie still. Im not a expert, but I feel knowledgeable. Its fast and runs cool. If it runs cool and produces alot of power, doesnt that mean its not wasting electricity(heat=wasted power) right? But Im very happy with it. As I said..I have a mostly stock E Revo with a Castle/Nue MM 2200 geared 22/68 and the Maxx geared 18/68 with the KD motor and XeRun 80A it runs head to head with it.

I noticed the motor was not on Hobbywing site.

My friend has older E-Maxx. Is it noticeable difference going from twin Titan setup to the eZRun 80A and 3665 combo?

Shouldn't you add mini revo to your signature below! From the sound of it, you have one of those too!

If his mini revo was junk, just send it back. Seems simple.

Anyway, back on topic...

There pretty efficient. Its geared 18/68 now in my E Maxx and its cool runnin on 2 Zippy 20c 5000mAh packs. After many speed runs and some heavy bashin it temps around 130-140 on a warm afternoon. Theres alot of air movement under the lid thou. The Xerun has a fan and I have a Hobbywing heatsink with a huge fan on it(the HS/fan that was sold on the old EZ 1/8 set ups. So between the two fans running and the large heat sink its stayin cool. And there not actually Fiageo motors. They are cheap "Chinese" motors thou. I found the same colored canned motor with the same measurments and KV ratings on a asian wholesale site. But for $70 I have no complaints. Ive had it for ahwile now and with a drop of oil on the bearings here and there its still running strong!

Those are old hobbywing motors 2 poles not very efficient will tend to burn. If u try the 4274 motor 2000kv 4 pole it's more powerful n runs even cooler. Comes with sensored or non sensored.

I have been looking at those, Leapords and the Infinite ones here http://www.okhobby.com/product.php?id_product=1156 at OK Hobby. I see the "Kershaw Designs" and "Orion" "Vorex" ESC's at 1/3 the cost! But I was considering one of these aswell.
