Default losi XXX4 Front Shock Tower

Hey All - -

I can't remember where - but I recall seeing a piece (CF?) / brace that sits across the top of the front shock tower to strengthen it. We do use the new front shock towers - but they still break.

Can anyone here direct me to where these are sold?

thanks

I suggest you do NOT strengthen this part. What happens is that after you strengthen the shock tower, the impact force is transmitted to the next part -- you break the chassis.

Shock tower = cheap. Chassis = $$$$

Chazz -

Point well taken - the very reason why I have never gone with the alloy parts (A - arms etc...).

Guess I will continue to order the shock towers 2 and 3 at a time. I run a XX4 and the front tower seems to be able to take more punishement than the XXX4 (my daughters car). OH WELL - this one lasted several months so i guess that I can't complain too much.

thanks

i dont know if you have already done this but put some o rings (like you use in the shocks) behind teh shock tower where the screws go through.

tighten the shock tower up just until the orings start to compress then any impact it takes the orings take most of the shock.

i did this on my old xxx4 after i broke a shock tower and i didnt break one again

If you're using the G+ shock towers, you can bolt 2 of them together as well. The o-ring trick is cool too, thanks!

The braces you are talking about are the PRP Backbones and they stopped making them when Losi changed the chasis design.
